    As of 8/3, Pickle said that 25,403 applications had been submitted, with 18,793 accepted, and 6,150 approved.

    My guess is you're right. I wouldn't find it hard to believe that literally thousands of applications have been started and then paused/aborted as requirements for submission become clear to the uninitiated.
    Yeah, my guess is either 25,403 were submitted and of those 18,793 accepted and 6610 were awaiting acceptance, with a further 6,150 had been approved. Or, I'd guess the pool of 25,403 is everything that had reached acceptance stage or later.

    18,793+6150 is awfully close to 25,403. It is 460 short of that. Since we know it is taking about a week to go from submission to accepted, that would be an oddly tiny number of applications that had been submitted and waiting to be accepted.

    Or it is possible 460 applications had been denied for various reasons, which doesn't seem that unlikely to me. Someone didn't submit training and didn't actually have a training qualification form to submit. Someone got denied because of a previous conviction, etc.

    So I'd guess the 25,403 was only things that were accepted, denied or approved. Not actually the total world of submitted.

    Or it is possible that the submitted numbers don't include those approvals, and it is just coincidence that there were 6610 waiting acceptance and 18,793 accepted of the 25,403 submitted and that there were also a further 6,150 approved which is very close to how many were pending acceptance.

    I know the HGP application numbers have gone up since I created and submitted mine, but I think the lowest numbers I've heard were around 17k pre Bruen for the number. Unless it is TOTALLY random, which it doesn't sound like it is, my app number I think is around 46k and I've heard some guys are close to 60k now. Plenty of started and unsubmitted applications. Probably plenty of guys started applications pre-Bruen waiting on a decision too.

    But if we take out 17k from even 57k figuring the 17k had all been submitted pre-Bruen and the 57k was around the HGP app number when Sgt Pickel gave out the numbers, that is 40,000. There has to be at least thousands sitting waiting to be submitted still.

    Anyway, I guess it is possibly splitting hairs and trying to read tea leaves. It is a lot of submissions, >2x what they receive in a normal year in just a few weeks.

    Every time I check my App I end up looking at accessories/addons for the 365. At this rate I'm gonna end up with a 40 pound gun by the time I get my permit. Wonder if they make the rail mounted expresso machine is coyote tan :D
    I've got no clue what the heck I am going to do. I want a micro 9. Maybe just a single stack. Or a 38 pocket revolver. Or all of the above. I do know before I decide on a micro 9, I want a chance to try most/all of them out first. I am fine getting one if I try one and like it. I don't have to make sure I get THE BEST for me. But I want to make sure what I get will work for me. A pocket 38 I am going to be fairly sure will work for me. Something like an S&W bodyguard. And if it isn't my ideal concealed carry piece and I decide on something else later, it'll probably work just fine as a range toy/plinker loaded light or keep it as a glovebox gun with a pocket holster as a just in case I decide spur of the moment I need something to drop in a pocket and take with me. I can also put bigger grips on it for use as a range plinker.

    The $$ isn't too bad. A micro 9 I decide I don't like and I don't shoot well has zero use and I can't really put bigger grips on it for use as a range toy.

    7/12 - Submitted
    7/20 - Accepted
    8/8 - NICS
    clearly they have no order. I submitted 7/13, accepted 7/20 and nothing since. Just saw another post that was Submitted 7/18, accepted 7/21 and NICS 8/9. I guess I am being skipped somewhere...

    I still don't interpret Pickle's words the same. He said 25k had been accepted and 6k approved. Unless he actually meant 25k had been submitted and 6k accepted. Or 25k submitted and 6k approved.

    I think he meant exactly that, some number of permits had been submitted, but that number is equal to

    Started = Submitted + unsubmitted
    Submitted = pending acceptance + 25k accepted + 6k approved
    Unknown if accepted also includes approved (probably not).

    Of course, I might be wrong, and you are absolutely right he was using accepted to mean all applications submitted.
    I heard and wrote in my notes: 25k submitted, 18k accepted, and 6k approved.

    it was recorded so anyone can go back and check.

    Thought my wait was over when I got my approval on 8/2 but it looks like they completely stopped sending cards around for that time.

    Watching this thread... I could very well see mass suicides if folks had to actually wait the full 90 days... :rolleyes:

    Yea 80 is the new 30 :D
    I think I was in your class
    180 in mine, 7/23 and 7/24. No that wasn’t a good experience whatsoever. About half the class didn’t get to qualify on day 2, they had to return the following weekend. Same amount of folks got screwed out of the fingerprinting service as well, and had to pursue that separately as well. Too many damn people.
