    Don’t recommend doing so….

If you do coordinate with whatever local police department ahead of time and pay to have officers with you. It’s best to get some politicians involved and out there with you.

The problem with events like this is who shows up…. If it’s done in public areas, any ass hole can show up and take an event that has good purposes and destroy it.

The recent turning point USA summit is a good example. Neo nazis showed protesting outside the event . The event got associated (BY THE MEDIA AND POLITICIANS WITH AN AGENDA) with those being neo-nazis and it made a lot of bad press for the organization.

    Modified with 44Dan44 recommended wording.
These are sadly all good points.

I won’t lie.. I am biased against the idea of open carry when you can conceal carry. Don’t see the point unless you are doing an activity that open carry makes sense.

Good luck with the whole thing.

Find a way to make people register for it.

I would recommend writing up a waiver that lays out ground rules for the event and says you can boot anyone out for any reason.

Make sure everyone has their permits on them and they are legit.

Pick a reasonable area (not a shitty part of a town where crime is bad).

Have everyone wear the same T-shirt (get a custom one for the event made). This way you can differentiate between yourselves and some clown joining that might cause trouble.

Inform the local police at a minimum of what you’re doing, when, where, etc.

You should be fine and have a good time.

Nope, I dont think open carry is a smart choice. If you're able to conceal carry, why open carry?

4 pages of back and forth about nothing lol.

In theory I think open carry is the way to go. Carry what you want however you want and let the Maryland Karens get used to it. In actual practice though, I like to go through life attracting as little attention as possible and limiting my interactions with other humans as much as possible.

It will look nice with a hat that says "grayman" and a pair of Royal Robbins, maybe a "photography" vest...
Royal Robbins shirts back in the day were the best. I think 5.11 bought them out and just disbanded the clothing line, even when 5.11 didn't have clothing. LOL All the guys out on the range using fishing vests for cover garments for quals.

I'll carry how I like depending on the business I'm in. Stores like Lowes and Home Depot can be open but some stores have policies against open carry like Starbucks and Walmart. If you're going to open carry get a decent retention holster to keep the gun from being grabbed and pulled out.
