Certainly not condoning this, but that Killdozer can be defeated with several Molotov cocktails.

It's maddening to see the state bring in equipment like this, to counter a peaceful demonstration. Who's escalating here????

Why do we allow them to spend our tax dollars on the very device they decide to use against us as they try and strip us of our rights.

    .gov in action.

They say they don't want to escalate it.

They declared a state of emergency.

Why don't they just shut down on monday and take the day off, put up video and let our side stand around and protest. If nothing happens, then we look good. If something happens, we look bad.

Instead...they bring in all the tools needed to escalate the situation.

I keep asking myself, what are they defending? The lawn? There's no credible threat of counter protest, so what will spark violence? At this point, the only real threat to peace appears to be the VSP.

Yes, Northam is putting the VSP in a tough spot. I’m sure they are less than pleased with him. Northam is quickly losing supporters. fred55

Agents of the state not supporting the state? :lol2:

VSP will do what they are told to do - and they will probably enjoy doing it.

Not condoning either but you are correct. That's not an Abrams.

From House Republican Caucus Chairman Kathy Byron: “Today we have a 6ft chain link fence blocking our capital and 1200 law enforcement officers at the State Capitol. I realize we need to keep the law abiding citizens safe that plan to come to the Capitol but is what we are doing heightening the tension and designed to frighten the people? - we didn't put safety measures in place like this when the Queen of England came to the Capitol. As a member of leadership, we have yet to receive a response to our request to the Governor requesting a secure briefing to justify the restrictions and authority for such restrictions on citizens 1st and 2nd amendment rights.

That's a nice polite way to start the mockery. I'm thinking signs like: "Gov. Northam's gun control is so popular he had to make Richmond Ft. Knox"

How about "Northam will kill our friends and family to remind us of his love". Who's seen Hamilton?

How about, “Gov. Northam sees the light, and uses the occasion to put on a practical display of exactly why the Founders wrote the Second Amendment - and the whole Bill of Rights - in the first place. Thanks, guvna!”

Bracken's take on it and some suggestions

    Bring:
1)Physical printed maps in ziplock bags with entry and exit routes pre-marked to avoid getting funneled into areas during mass movement.
    2) 8x20 binos- gives you better situational awareness to spot issues far away(such as mass arrests or scraps with opposing groups)
    3) thermal optics- better situational awareness to essentially see who is armed(look for the cool blob on their hip)
    4) medium sized wire clippers- if a mass movement happens, it allows you to snip the wires binding two fence panels together to quickly push them apart and make your own exit
    5) small wire clippers in back pocket/back of pants- handy for undoing zip-ties for yourself and others.
    6) someone to work security at the parking lot to prevent damage/theft

Yeah , we all know the VSP , will obtain a certain amount of excitement and semi-hardness in cracking a few skulls of protesters .
Anyone that expects anything different has their heads in the sand .

They will excuse it away by it is a lawful order and so therefore acceptable . All a Governor needs to do (or Government) is to declare Martial Law and all acts after are acceptable by Military & LE .

They also can make false flags claims and achieve the same act .

What 5th-grader wrote that? The points made are accurate, but geez...have someone proof read before you post on behalf of the Va R party. It doesn't help the optic that "Republicans are just rednecks"

    Just saw this on Facebook:

John sent this in, it was taken by a friend of his in Ashland yesterday headed towards Richmond. Just to be clear, you're not allowed to wear armor, but the state police have their own killdozer. Why in the name of ever loving **** do they have this? By the time the rest of the zombies wake up to this tyranny, it will be too late.

Calling it "Killdozer" is a little dramatic. Police use this type of equipment to break seizes and/or standoffs. Having it there saves time in the event it is needed. You are not allowed to wear armor because of past protests that has happen across the nation.

Here is the thing people (not this group, but most people) don't get

If Governor Blackface can simply ignore the 2nd Amendment and ban guns in the state capital today, then tomorrow what stops him from ignoring the 1st amendment and banning speech that goes against his agenda?

    Nothing, that's what.

And he will do it in the name of safety and security. "We need to protect our citizens and unfortunately some people get riled up when they make political statements so we have to ban political statements for everyone's safety" he will say.

And once we start down that road suddenly people get arrested and are too dangerous to be afforded the right to be secure in one's property or to remain silent when questioned. In the name of safety they will claim the 4th and 5th amendments need to be regulated with common sense restrictions

    How do we know this?

BECAUSE IT IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO EVERY FREE SOCIETY IN HUMAN HISTORY!

Antifa Group To March Alongside Pro-Gun Protesters In Virginia
    https://dailycaller.com/2020/01/16/antifa-group-march-pro-gun-protesters-virginia/
A diverse gathering of pro-gun protestors set to descend upon Virginia’s capital on Monday could include an unlikely ally, a local antifa group.

In what Vice called a “bizarre meeting of the minds,” Richmond-based Antifa Seven Hills also strongly opposes the gun measures now likely to become law since Democrats won control of both Virginia houses last year, and they too want Democratic leaders in Richmond to know.

“I think it’s been pretty important for us to focus on the fact that gun control in America has a legacy of racist enforcement,” an Antifa Seven Hills spokesperson called James, a self-identified anarchist who withheld his real name for fear of getting doxxed, told Vice. “Like taking guns away from black people, because black people were perceived as a threat to property and the sanctity of the state.”

“This is our fight as much as anyone else’s,” James continued. “It’s our state, and we are left largely out of the debate. The presence of an armed left is not discussed, it’s not understood.”

To the “armed left,” gun control represents the rise of a police state and the oppression of minorities made powerless by disarmament, but it’s a class issue as well.

“In the case of Antifa Seven Hills, they believe they’ve got more in common with working-class white Virginians, regardless of their political bent, than they do with many of the moderate Democrats who helped their party win control of the Legislature in November, for the first time since 1994,” Vice reported, adding that the group sees the coming January 20 rally “as an opportunity to extend an olive branch to other gun owners — at least those who don’t align with the far-right militias or white supremacists who are also expected to show up to the event.”

Actually should be asking if this includes their security detail? What’s the difference if they’re there with their security and I’m there with my own legally procured “security”?
