Shot an antlerless buck this morning. Thought I connected on a big doe, by he had already dropped his horns. Earliest I’ve seen it happen in person.

What do you guys do with all the deer? Donate them to feed the hungry? That is what we mostly did. Could not find enough people that wanted that much venison. Plus, they wanted it cut up and processed if they were to take it.
I donate some. My retired helper always takes a couple. I give one to one of my farm owners, butchered. Anything extra, I give to FHFH.

I shot three in one day during late firearms season. They were all injured(limping badly).

First deer of the year on the last day of gun (in this county). She keeled over in a muddy swamp, so I gave her a bath before emptying her. 136 undressed.

Yes- you can tell its been a mild winter so far. Really in strong condition with tons of fat on her.

I hope the one upside to a mild winter is above average numbers and bigger deer next year. I just hope it doesn’t mean outbreaks of blue tongue, worse ticks and mosquitos.

A buddy of mine had a pic on his trail camera of the buck I harvested in muzzleloader season. Before and after.

I watched a wide 8 pt grazing in my yard this evening....good on him for making it through the season.

Hopefully Route 216 doesnt get him.

Sounds too far to wander over to me...but still 2 1/2 weeks of bow season left.

What "season"? You hear a lot of gun fire on that side of the county during firearms season?

I don't hear that much shooting out here in the "western" part of the county even on opening day of deer season. Guess somebody could have been after that 8 point with a bow, but even hunting with a bow around here is tough with the 150 yard rule for dwellings.

In Anne Arundel it’s 100 yards, contacted the AA government and they told me it was a state issue and to contact my state rep. I think any changes to hunting regs has to go thru Annapolis.

    That is correct

That is how Saint Mary's and Calvert got reduced.
