is a bump stock a bump stock when its not attached to anything ?

Yes. A stock is still a stock if it isn’t attached to anything. So has ruled the ATF and so has ruled several courts/juries. I can’t see how a bumpstock wouldn’t be a bumpstock if it weren’t attached to a rifle.

Lol what a fantastically written shit bill. He has unintentionally made it even more worthless. I won't post why it's a joke but if you know more than Ramirez you'll spot it. Not hard.

What a craptastically written bill. HAHA.

And remember: If you murder a bunch of people while using a bumpfire stock, you'll go to jail! Unlike if you murdered them the old fashioned way.

No co-sponsors. I wonder how hard they will push this vs. other things they want - sanctuary state for illegals.

The other Delegates/Senators often wait to see which bill their party's leadership tells them to co-sponsor. Sometimes you'll see two or three legislators submit virtually the same bill, and the party uses it as a negotiating tactic to decide which one goes through.

    Put differently:
    "Dear Delegate SJW,
We know we're going to pass a gun ban, but if you want it to be the one with your name at the top, you better vote for these three other bills that are so leftist and bad for your constituent that even you wouldn't vote for them.
    Sincerely,
Mike Miller and Mike Busch, AKA The Beer Brothers"

If I use a 3/4" dowel as a bump-stock, is it forever a bump-stock? even after I remove it and re-task it as a roosting bar for my chickens?

Would seem so, given BATFE precedent.

So if I use my belt loop or the collar on my tee shirt as a bumpstock does that make my pants and shirt a bump stock or everyone’s pants and shirts??

Just yours, the same way as me building an AR lower into a pistol doesn't make all ARs pistols.

Be careful where you wear your Prohibited Pants.

I usually suffer the opposite problem, I am prohibited from not having on pants.

Just because that one time! Yeesh.

Well, the next time you have to go to a government building, public library, or bank, and have to explain that your prohbited-but-grandfathered bump-stock pants are in your car parked in the Chick-Fil-A lot across the street ... try not to giggle.

    26 A PERSON MAY NOT:
27 (1) TRANSPORT A BUMP STOCK INTO THE STATE; OR
1 (2) MANUFACTURE, POSSESS, USE, SELL, OFFER TO SELL, TRANSFER,
2 PURCHASE, OR RECEIVE A BUMP STOCK.

Seems to me that a lot of US postal workers will be going to jail for transporting if it passes.

I highly doubt MSP is going to start doing checkpoints and searches of USPS, fedex and UPS freight trucks driving through the state.

Will the state be required to reimburse us for our confiscated property ?

My guess is that they will give us 60-90 days to sell them out of state. I took a look on gunbroker and ebay and I will be lucky to get 1/2 the price that I paid for my Echo trigger.

have they ever done property confiscation in MD where something was once legal and now it's not?

I'm thinking about NY where even LEO's said F-U to the new turn-in law.

I don't see how anyone (government entity) would know if you have a trigger or bump stop. If someone is close to retirement age, and is thinking about moving. What would prevent that person from putting the device into a box on a shelf in the basement until they can leave this God forsaken state?

    I'm just saying.....

I doubt there will be active searches, more like an extra charge if found in relation to something else.

I wonder if police will act on anonymous tip about simple possession, should it be made illegal...

Door kick-ins to collect bump stocks?

Where is that Tipping Point thread?

The Connecticut Confiscation has not resulted in kick-ins or any ratting out that I am aware of.

Possibly because they know LE with “unregistered” items would be tatted out, too and ifit was found out that “rogue LE” was given a pass, well, then they would have a riot on their hands.

Making law that they are too fearful to enforce...
