None of this Gun Grabbing nonsense will ever make it to Trump's desk.

It doesn't have to...
Agreed to a point, but I am worried that the country will take a hard left turn and this will be an issue in the future. Say the house and senate have lefties in power in 2018 - they certainly can override a Trump veto. Let's also put our efforts where we need to. The provisions of this AWB at the federal level are actually WORSE than what we are dealing with in MD as law (2 features vs. 1).
People in other states need to pay attention regardless.
Actually - I feel sorry for you. Read this:

I've already been looking into property in WVA for retirement so now ill just expedite matters
2/3rds in both houses is a tough row to hoe.
oh crap! hopefully above is correct and this won't go anywhere. hey, at least they're letting us keep what we have...
I'm sure half the justification has nothing to do with assault weapons and everything to do with forcing Hogan into a veto situation. If they pass one and he does (hopefully) veto it you can bet the dems will beat that drum until election day with the soccer moms, and their fellow travelers in the local media will be quick to mention it in every news story concerning a gun crime. These people care nothing about the citizens of this state and everything about shoving their pseudo-communist ideology down everyone else's throats.

While I agree with your assessment, Zoo, I believe that this current AWB bill is at the Federal Level... bringing MD style infringements to the rest of America.
Damn straight! What about car accidents? Those #’s are typically staggering, compared to gun violence. Good post Migraine Man."That’s 89 mass shootings in the last 30 years that snuffed out the lives of more than 700 people. "
Hell, that's nothing. Step ladders kill 300 people and injure another 164,000 ... EVERY YEAR. In the same 30-year window, 9000 people were killed by step-ladder violence (might as well call it what it is.)
From 2005-2014, there were an average of 3,536 fatal unintentional drownings (non-boating related) annually in the United States; an additional 332 people died each year from drowning in boating-related incidents. That's 34,812 deaths in a 9-year window ... equivalent to 116,040 in 30 years. Drowning violence appears to be more than two orders of magnitude more significant than mass shooting violence.
We could save a hell of a lot more lives by teaching people to swim versus trying to ban evil scary black rifles. (But you and I know this has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with control.)
