I was actually able to find the ever elusive federal 550 value packs recently. (red box)
I haven't seen those in forever.
There were a bunch of them at the Denton WM the other day.

Take advantage of things while they are returning to normal, my friends. I've doubled my reserve of .22 and will continuing to buy more than I shoot for the foreseeable future. You never know when it isn't going to be readily available any more.
Yep... for now. I'm squirreling nuts away for a future winter.
Quarterfield WM had .22 in the case over the weekend, including CCI minimag for about $7.50.
The CMP is selling Eley Standard .22 by the case 5,000 rounds for $354.95 free shipping included. That is $35.50 a brick of 500 for good quality ammo.

Stock up for the next shortage.
Just bough some. Should be good for a while.
Said no hoarder of ammunition....
Why buy 1 when you can buy 2 for twice the price.

I got that email too. I get the impression that its not 'Eley Standard' they simply relabeled. It says "ELEY in conjunction with the CMP developed an accurate round" which makes me think it yet another version of Eley that doesn't exactly match anything else. Or maybe it does. But its going to be a crapshoot as to whether it works well in your guns w/o trying it first.

Saw a few Thunderbolts 500rd box for $21.50 at GTown WM. That's around .04 per round.
I bet it works better than Thundercrap and if it doesn't work for you you can always sell it to your friends who either don't know about ammo testing or don't care about accuracy. Or a better idea just keep buying guns until you find one that likes the ammo.
