I think a sign painting party is a great idea. I've got cash to pitch in and I can bring some supplies with me to contribute.

Do you guys smell that? Smells like Liberty.

Its yours as usual good sir. 8am at my shop, we can hit a breakfast stop on the way down.

Maybe the Lone Haranguer of Gov Hogan, Magnumst, can also join us.

I'm going to try like hell to make it but I will have to be a game time decision. I could use a day off, been working 6-7 days for the last 2 1/2 months.

I've got a spot centrally located in HoCo for a sign painting party if needed. Plenty of stainless steel tables to work on.

You got a set of keys to someone's industrial bakery or Chinese noodle factory? :D

    Something like that.... ;)

As a matter of fact, yes, the Howard County Morgue has offered us tabletop space after their last wipe-down...no es problema?

    j/k

FYI: I got a message reminding me that our Deplorables Tuesday Rally on Feb. 7th might draw people who have NEVER been to the Maryland Statehouse grounds ever, and that I should specify where we will be.

Here ya go: From Route 50 take the Rowe Blvd exit. When you see the Navy Stadium on the right, get into the left lane and STAY THERE WITH NO TURNS UNTIL THE ROADWAY DEADENDS AT COLLEGE AVENUE. You will see the Capitol dome straight ahead. We will be right there at that intersection!

For those programming their GPS, our rally site is at BLADEN STREET & COLLEGE AVENUE, ANNAPOLIS MD 21401.

h/t to EL1227 for his amusing salute to past battles!:

Maybe you should mention something about parking? Do they still have parking at Navy stadium, and bus service to state house? I remember someone had all sorts of maps last year on here.

$2 roundtrip from Navy Stadium or press your luck with on street parking around the state house. There are a few garages too.

Thank you, Tim, for the awesome map!

Parking? There are 2-hour and 8-hour free parking spaces along the big wall boundary for the Naval Academy along King George Street.

In the photo above, inside the triangle formed by West Street, Northwest Street and Calvert Street--that big white roof you see is a major parking garage. Access it from Calvert Street.

In the residential areas facing St. John's College are available 2 hour free parking spaces, as long as you don't block driveways, duh! To reach this residential neighborhood, drive down Rowe Blvd until it dead ends at College Avenue. Take a left onto College Ave and go to the first traffic light, Take a right, and then the first right turn to get into that neighborhood and hunt around. This is my favorite "local knowledge" parking when going to Lawyer's Mall!

People are welcome to stay well past the "structured Rally" of 60 minutes for an additional 30-45 minutes and still not be on the bad side of the Meter Maids.

For those of us who might want to have a Beer Brunch afterwards, we'll move our vehicles to parking meters on West Street.

    How's that for a plan?

Yeeeeup! I am thinking through a possible sign-painting party--you chip in a few bucks for paint and brushes and I will supply the blank sign. Or buy your own paint (waterproof) and brushes and we arrange to get you a blank sign board.

The November election was a God-send in more ways than one: I went all over creation asking for and getting permission to collect campaign signs that we will re-use for 2017 protest signs. We just need cans of paint and buckets of brushes.

That is a crazy good idea. Im all set but a personal in your face sign.

Sign Painting Party on 24 January

Next Tuesday, 24 January we will be having a sign painting party at the my shop in Elkridge, HoCo starting at 6 pm. Bring your white board, bring your paints, bring your creative ideas and bring your choice of adult beverage.

If you're anywhere close and are game for next Tuesday reply with an "I'm in" and send me a PM for the address.

I will be supplying some whiteboards too.

For those that can track down your own whiteboards, go to the Dollar Tree stores and look in the school supplies section for a cardboard box of TRI-FOLD whiteboards--or ask for them if you don't see them because they can be camouflaged by the clutter in that aisle. Of course each TRI-FOLD BOARD is just a dollar, so buy a bunch so you can make multiple signs--or make multiple mistakes and start over!

The TRI-FOLD boards need to be made sturdy after you paint your message... by backing them with one or two layers of brown cardboard from any old big box. Also, at the Dollar Street, grab a roll of clear plastic packing tape, which is what we use on the sign edge to bind the whiteboard and brown-cardboard backing together.

And remember, there ain't room for a sentence on your sign. You've got to come up with 4-6 words TOTAL to have an attention-grabbing, hard-hitting sign!

Peeps ain't got no time to read a speech...keep it short & sweet!
