Totally normal. State law gives Utah BCI 60 days from the time they receive your app to process it.

got my permit in the mail today. 27 days. class taken at freestate.

Is that the closest in the area? I'm in Harford Co. and most that offered the class were pretty far away. Looks like they are charging a bit more than everyone else at $100 than the typical $50-60..

Is there currently a benefit to the Utah permit vs a New Hampshire permit?

Pennsylvania isn't recognizing nom-resident UT, but still recognizes non-resident NH, correct?

(If already discussed in here, just shout a post number - don't see a search this thread button on mobile)

Correct... PA honors the NH N/R, but not a Utah N/R permit.

Here are the coverages... first is UT N/R, second is NH N/R permit states...

For the Eastern states, NH gives you the addition of PA and NH. Out west, Utah gives you more coverage...

if you want to carry in PA as a MD resident, you have 2 choices.

    1 Texas
    2. New Hampshire

Texas requires in state training from a TX Certified instructor
    NH does not.

the choice is easy for many.

enjoyin that new site, huh Sticky?
    I gotta say.... YES! LMAO

It's much better in the N/R sense than the map function at handgunlaw.us, but I do like the thoroughness of the hgl.us website if you take the time to read everything, they explain it all..

Had a scare the other day. Tried to renew my Utah permit on line and the program wouldn't allow me to complete the application; invalid permit it said. Called Utah and was told I'd have to retake their course because I had failed to renew my 2011 permit. I told the lady that was impossible because I was holding in my hand a Utah permit with an expiration date of Dec 2016. She turned me over to her supervisor who checked the system and confirmed that my permit was valid and that their end had failed to update my file. He did so, told me everything would work now, and it did. Two cordial state employees that knew their job and treated the caller like one should be treated. $15.75 and permit should be on its way any day. You might want to take heed, Maryland.
