"Seriously folks, I am here to discuss LGBT safety and security'

Imagine how uncomfortable the Dems in Annapolis would be if a person like that came to testify in favor of concealed carry...

I wish we could get people like that attending those patriot pickets. It would give the left some migraines so bad they would melt down.

I support everyone's right to express his, her or its beliefs. But I have a hard time taking anyone who presents themselves like this seriously when he's taking about disarming citizens. Maybe if he was selling tickets to Ringling Bros. Circus I'd be more likely to give him credence. But dressed like a drag queen pirate talking about safety and security? No way.

I have to admit that his appearance on 2A Tuesday would probably have Mike & Mike shifting uncomfortably in their seats as they try to figure out how to attack his pro-gun stance while maintaining support for 'alternative lifestyles'. But, I'll agree with R56 Ed, we need credible advocates, and it's doubtful he's pro-2A ... a Pink Pistol member on the other hand ...

Besides, wearing a black strapless gown before sundown is a fashion faux pas ... I mean, hasn't he ever watched "What NOT to Wear" ? Sorry, the devil made me say that ... :evilgrin3

I doubt he is pro-2A too, but if the Pink Pistols exist, there may be some people like that who are pro-2A we need to find.

To R56 Ed, to you, he's not credible. To someone in the drag community, his appearance is normal and to them, the appearance of some hetereosexual, cisgendered middle age white males is not credible to talk about issues of LGBT safety.

Not meant as an attack on you, just that we have to look beyond our comfort zone for allies in this fight.

I think that Rack made 'unofficial' contact with a NoVA Pink Pistol member. I also understand that there is a MD chapter, so if we can build an alliance, us 'cisgendered' old white guys won't need to talk issues of LGBT safety when we address the legislature next year. We can just link arms and say in unison ...

There are some issues that transcend gender, or how you wish to identify it.

After last year's 2A Tuesday I think I'd rather see a drag queen who is passionate and willing to get in M&B's faces instead of the litany of monochrome dullards thrust upon us.

With a couple of exceptions, the last one made me wish I had stayed at work.....

No worries... not taking it personally. If he were speaking for LGBTQ rights, he's got my attention and respect. Speaking against a Constitutional right (I assume he was in support of disarming hate, but I may be wrong), not so much. If he is a pro-2A ally, awesome! He'd definitely break our white, middle aged fat white guy stereotype in Annapolis. Bring it on!

I can certainly understand how folks who choose to present themselves in that manner might be subject to elevated levels of societal discrimination and potential violence. That's their choice and their right. But I seriously doubt that he, or anyone else in his community, has ever been the victim of a legally armed citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights.

So is the flamboyant LGBTQ world one where everybody is required to know everyone , or are there still individuals who are doing their own thing, below the radar when not specifically engaging their inner flamboyant?

I think an alliance with 2A friendly's is good for all parties looking to expand and or to create a tight front line in defending guns rights . Hopefully the next rally I will be able to attend as I want to be part of the solution and show solidarity with the folks here .

If I know about the events I may be able to be there maybe every other one or so . But I really think this is good news and all 2A people can stand together .

That may be true, but with over 10,000 users on this forum, we could make it very hard for them to forget who's signs they were.
