I may form 1 couple lowers this month. No idea what I would do with them yet. Just want to get them on the trust. It really doesn't matter when they come back since I have no specific plans for them.

    That's a good idea. I may follow your example.

Just curious, how can you form 1 a lower without providing specific info on the final configuration on the weapon? (Caliber, bbl length, etc... )

You can't. I will put in the minimum configs to keep it legal. Then when I do build it, I will make sure it matches or exceeds the F1.

Gotcha... that's where I was a tad confused.. lol

IIRC, you need to be able to replicate the info provided if investigated... hope that never happens.. :shocking:

I thought about that. So I will have the correct upper in the listed caliber, etc to make sure it will.
Is there an issue with not having the lower built yet if investigated?

No, don't think so. Since you can't build til approved, there should be a grace period of sorts, but don't know that that is. Worst case, I"d say 'I haven't built it yet..'

edit - the lower receiver is the item in question, so as long as you have the stripped lower in question and not necessarily the final configuration completed, you should be gtg I think..

No issue if you have not built it. Right now I have three approved form 1s that are not built yet. And two more submitted.

Also if you decide on another configuration you can just notify the ATF. It's better than keeping uppers around that you don't need or want.

In cases where you're not 100% certain of the final build specs (since they know you're not legally permitted to test-fit parts together prior to having the stamp) you should contact ATF after receiving your stamp and give them the final specs so they can update their records. That's what they told me.

Bought & paid cash for a supressor (not in stock) from dealer on April 2.

As of today June 6 it's still not at my dealer.

I would like to call that ATF # to check the status of I'm assuming the Form 3, but my dealer said they won't know the serial # until it comes in....

I've called twice since I bought it & I don't really want to be annoying but couldn't my dealer make a call to their distributor & find out the serial number and let me know it? At least this way I know SOMETHING & can stop bugging my dealer & get some sort of info from ATF as far as where it is in line.

I don't know much about form 3's except my last purchase was also a supressor that wasn't in stock & they called me in 6-7 weeks when it was in.

Would I be out of line asking my dealer to try & find out the serial number?

Yes if your dealer has a good relationship with his supplier he should already have the serial numbers. If the form 3 has been in since April. Then there is no reason he shouldn't have them.

Same boat here but I bought mine on 3/14 and it still hasn't been shipped to my ffl. I know I'm late to the game but damn!

I just got word from Silencer Shop that a Form 3 on a supressor I ordered through them on 4/11 was just approved, so hopefully your shop should be seeing yours soon

I got the same email today about a suppressor i bought on 4/21, says check was cashed on 6/6. Like I mentioned before I also bought a suppressor from Grabagun on 3/14 and still haven't heard anything from them. How does the one I bought a month after that come back first? Should I contact them or what?

Ordered a Bowers VERS 9 today from them. Had the copy of the form 4 within a hr on my e mail. I know they will hold it a week or 2 before submission. But Its nice to see things moving along.
