You would not need to show your HQL for a purchase you made prior to October 1. However, you do need it if you plan to purchase any more handguns.

Yes, that's 5 F'ing Months! And they told me that I need to have the HQL to pickup my revolver.

You do need your HQL to pick up (but purchased prior to 10/1) a handgun after 10/1. The MSP said they wouldn't enforce that though. Personally, I wouldn't take that chance. IANAL.

And the AG issued a contrary opinion saying you did need the HQL for pickup.

I was wondering I made a purchase on September 28th for a lower I had already been waiting 60 days for a previous purchase I submitted my application for a DC I just received my hql and purchase a sig 1911 which stack am I put in I filled out my application 3/1/14 still no "not disapproved"
It sounds like there is a new wait going on...
My dealer is a month behind on current submissions.
He says that the system is so messed up that paperwork he is getting back is full or errors like the nic's approval dated being written on the paperwork as a date that was even before the customer filled out the paperwork:
Example:
Application Submission date 2/18/14
Nic's Approval date 2/13/14

Dude... you pay taxes to get great services..look at virginia.. they dont even build roads. Their "highways" are back roads and their traffic is horrible...for example. I dont understand how republicans dont understand why paying taxes is important. Schools, services, pretty much all public services...

... True. If only the politicians allocate the monies in earnest to those budgets. Ever look at the state budget in detail?
Funny how they use these specific services to justify tax increases and return to the well again and again with the same argument that we need to do something about infrastructure every year, meanwhile the funds are allocated irresponsibly to other "causes"...
Maybe this will change under the new leadership. A small businessman will certainly have a keen eye out for wasteful spending. Let's hope he isn't being held hostage by special interests..

Are you young, and therefore doesn't have much life experience? Or do you pay little taxes? Or do you have a passion to giving your money to liars? Here is a few axioms you learn after decades working, raising a family and paying taxes in the process:
1. For politicians, especially on the left (i.e. Democrats), there is no amount of taxation from you that will make them happy. No amount.
2. For said politicians, the word 'prioritizing' does not exist. They are unable to prioritize existing tax revenue to get the job done. Every new job requires additional taxation.
3. Said politicians direct your money to interest groups that in turn fund their campaign. It's legalized bribery.
4. Said politicians don't want the government to work harder for its tax revenue. If your kids go to a private school, for example, you cannot take a tax deduction. You have to pay for the local public school no matter what.
5. A larger and larger share of our taxes go to other people, not to roads and bridges that benefit us. And the people getting our money is about (or has already) to outnumber us. Once they do, we are on a straight path to Third World nation. No U-turn. You will have to vote with your feet and head to Canada or Australia.
6. A larger and larger share of our taxes go to international organizations and peoples that hate us. Prime examples are the U.N. and Palestinians. The latter will use our money to build new tunnels to attack our ally Israel.
I have to go otherwise I could keep writing on this for hours.
