What makes me not one of you? I'm a firearms owner, a member of the NRA and my state NRA affiliate club.

I take a special interest in Maryland because I was born there as were my parents, their parents, their parents, their parents...etc...etc. I can go back to the late 1600's.

I'm currently looking to buy a house and would like to live in Maryland again, but the current firearms situation prohibits that. I'm not willing to give up my right to bear arms without infringement.

Maybe some distinction is in order, then...

MDS is not a "rights" group, per se. We're just folks trying to get through to anyone who'll listen, about our interests and needs.

The groups already doing the fighting in Annapolis are MSI, MSRPA, AGC, etc., and there are standards and programs in place that are having measured effect.

I wouldn't even use the word group to describe us. We are more of a cummunity, whose interests share a common theme, and mutual support.

This board has fostered more acts of kindness by total strangers who have never met, than any other I have seen.

If you aren't one of us why are you here?

Your Honor, permission to treat Normy as a Hostile Witness for the purposes of seeking an answer.

PS: I'm not sure as a Marylander I would go on DEShooters.com and talk Shiite like you did a few posts back, with such a broad brush.

Correct about "community"... I used "group" because the poster seemed to view us as formally organized.

And also correct, that this is the best group of people I've never met. I'm proud to call you my imaginary friends.

Except Inigoes didn't type "community." ;)

Understood, but I read at least one post that stated MDS was quoted in a newspaper article.
Those that don't understand or own firearms can't or won't make the distinction between the different organizations.

    It's spelled Normie.

As far as your PS, I've read worse here.

I'm sorry if this has been gone over already - but why is Gov. Christie backing Hogan? I understand Hogan is who we need to elect to possibly right the wrongs we have had with laws over the past few years... But isn't Jersey a bad place to be for gun owners?

    Read on................

Christie is the head of the Repub. Gov's Assn, so there is a natural interest there.

Otherwise, it's starpower for votes, more than any policy thing.

    THIS ^^^.

I know, we could have a lot better Republican Governor as current leader in the RGA, but it is what it is. Actually it may be a good thing that CC is here because he's a moderate R and not an extreme right wing R. This will help the others from the other side of the fence vote R with less friction and resentment. I hate to say it (because it's Christie), but Christie is actually helping our cause.

Joisey has been a bad place for gun owners long before Christie was elected. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it takes a while for any governor anywhere to make major changes. They still have to deal with the state house and senate.

    This ^^^.

    Great point!

Imagine the hooha and teeth-gnashing if Rick Perry came in to do the same things!!

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.
Hey Norm. The way to make the point about the high road is to stay on it,which you did, even while being baited.

    Kudos.

Now folks round here are going to do whatever they are going to do, but one thing they are not is homogenious ( wait for it...;)).

Let most of it roll. Then prove we don't all agree by speaking out. I can assure you folks around here are going to do whatever they are going to do

    ;)

Thanks. The High road is tough to stay on and I have slipped more than once on different forums. I truly hope that Maryland can get out of this mess someday although I realize it may not be within my lifetime.

Maryland Shooters, "Maryland's Premier Shooting Community" , would have a lot more clout if they didn't act like elementary school children. Get your act together. You present yourselves as a bunch of uneducated hoodlums. Get with the program. Sorry...had to be said.

Just giving you guys a wake up call. Act accordingly and perhaps you will be given the respect you might deserve.

I saw a wreck but I did not see any High Road.
