I have a Black Rain Ordinance billet upper & lower set that I'll be building out soon. Im looking for a nice crisp trigger. Ive only ever had single stage milspec triggers in the past so Im up in the air regarding single vs. 2-stage.

    My biggest requirements are:

    1. Lighter trigger than milspec, but not too light
    2. Clean break with positive reset
    3. Around $200 +/- budget

Id like to hear your recommendations and experiences with other non-standard triggers. Im looking at Geissele, CMC, Wilson Combat, Black Rain Ordinance, POF, etc.....

Im open to all suggestions. Thanks.

I love my mega adjustable trigger. If you haven't tried one and would like to let me know.
It breaks like glass and with the wide pad it also feels good

You should rename the thread to Which Giessele. I really like the ssa-e and the 3gun. The fact is i dont habe either yet. All of my friends do. I have shot them and really liked them. Right now i have RRA 2 stage. I like it. Cheap. I personally like the 2 stage but toeach his own. I heard of rra 2 stage triggers breaking. I have had mine installed for about 3 years now without a hiccup and have put countless rounds down range with it. That being said, I have a few more lowers to finish that will both have giessele triggers installed.

This...another huge plus 1 for geissele. You can't go wrong. I have a 3 SSA triggers, a SSA-E(currently being built in my SPR) and a S3Gun. Once I get teh SSA-E SPR gun built if you want to meet up your more then welcome to shoot all 3 triggers to try them out.

These are the two Im looking at the most. I have limited experience with the SSA-E and liked it a lot. As far as the 3G goes Ive never tried one, but from its description its very apealing.

A cheaper option to the Geissele's are the ALG ACT and QMS. At $45-65 they're very nice quality and break clean around 6lbs. IMO they're hard to beat at that price point.

ALG is a company started by Amy Geissele.

I have two SSA-Es and now a QMS too. The QMS, while nicer than mil-spec comparing both side-by-side, is no SSAE. I wonder how much better it would be w/ one of those adj grip bolts that reduces the pull. Will still be single stage, but a lot less creep. Might be the killer <$100 trigger.

Im sure they aren't the same but one cost 3-4x as much.

I personally would love to have a case of geissele's but for the price of 3-4 triggers I almost have another rifle.

Agreed, which is why I tried the QMS. I can't afford to outfit everything w/ SSAEs either;) I haven't tried the ACT and its hard to figure out exactly whats different about it from the descriptions. Its obviously coated but the most telling part is they don't say the parts are interchangeable w/ milspec like they do w/ the QMS.

Joebob didn't have the ACT in stock last time I ordered. I plan on getting one of those and some of the adjustable grip bolts next order. Heck, an ACT + 2 adj bolt kits get me over the free ship limit so I just placed an order.

When I dropped the trigger on this and the round goes off down range. I turned and just started laughing histerically. Then almost started crying when i found out the price tag. But HEY, its worth it.

I have never tried a Geissele, but I have the CMC that Dan @ GC recommended. It is scary light and very crisp.

I'm not a fan of the dual stage triggers, bought a used AR10, it has a Geiselle not sure which one...but I don't like the slack. I like my Jewell on my R700 and the timney I had before.

I'm probably the minority though...but I will be buying a timney for my SPR

I had a timney single stage 3 lbs. It breaks like glass with no take up. I did not like the drop in design being different than any other AR, and sold it. I have looked at the geiselle, have not shot one though. I like single stage triggers on rifles.
