TO smdub:
The AGL ACT is mil-spec and interchangeable also. The only difference between that and the QMS is that the ACT is carburized with either a nickel or Teflon coating, to further enhance the smoothness of pull. They advertise about 6lbs, but mostly average 5.5. If you combine this with the adjustable trigger screw from mch28 for only $15 + $3 shipping, you will/should have a very nice trigger, mil-spec safe and reliable, for about almost $100 less than most of the others.
I have tried the new Giselle 2 stage for $180 I did like a lot, but I kinda missed that glass break feel for the second stage, but I could very easily live with it. But money being tight, I am first going with the ACT + trigger screw with standard full power springs to start. This not only saves me the money, but can always be used for something in the future. Like a dedicated .22lr I will be building at some point if I prefer something else afterwards.
Ihink I can further polish all contact points and get that down to about 5 lbs, which, if smooth with no creep or grittiness, is fine for me. If I were buying a more expensive trigger name brand, I would opt for the 4.5lb option. As in the heat of the moment, this is what I believe to be the best pull weight. Safe, reliable, and smooth...that's what I want for my everyday carbine. For a precision long range varmint or a bench rest rifle, well then 3-3.5 would be what I want. But, that is a whole different ball game.
This is just my 2 cents anyways.....:-) The RRA National Match for $120 is also a major contender in there..
