I just contacted Atlantic Guns Silver Spring store via the website Contact Us email process. This is what I sent.

"It appears that other FFL's are releasing guns that have been waiting on the MSP to return the applications for months and following the existing Maryland Law of 7 days. I purchased my hand gun from the Alantic Guns Silver Spring Store on 3/7/2013 AND paid in full at that time. I have been waiting 65 days (over 9 weeks). I'm wondering if you are going to start helping your paying customers obtain their firearm as stated by Maryland Law as it appears several other FFL's are doing at this time.

Thank you for attention to this matter and I look forward to your reply."

I like it. I have been thinking about doing something similar. I have contacted Sean Hannity and Glen Beck to see if either of them have any interest in covering our plight here in MD. That was yesterday...havent heard back yet.

I just contacted them thru their web site as well and said more or less the same thing. (I also pointed out that the $800 that I had to put on my credit card is money that I could have invested or used to pay down debt and so on.) I doubt it will make a difference, but at least they know where their customers are coming from.

I heard a story on WBAL radio last night about it. A rep for the MSP said they are working 7 days a week, 21 hours a day. But HOW MANY civies and sworns are assigned to the tasks? 4? 5? Sure as hell can't be 20 or 50!!!

Contact your FFL that you bought from with the question of release. FFL WILL RELEASE if they see people starting to buy ONLY from those FFL that release after 7 days.

Send them a link to this thread so they'll see that you're not one person with an axe to grind, but that this is a REAL AND CHRONIC PROBLEM that continues to get worse and not better!

Well, then, that makes it all better!

I'm just making fun of the situation, not trying to be a jerk to you, Lucca1 :)

No offense taken, its beyond laughable at this point! I forgot to add that they told me that my 3/1 review would be done in 1 1/2 weeks. Breath holding to commence now!:sad20:

    Must depend on the day.

First time in Feb they got back to me in about a day.
Second time; I emailed them last night at about 10:47 pm and the answer was in my inbox this morning at 8:04 am

Email to msp sent 7:51 this morning. Emai from msp came in this morning 8:17. I was impressed.

I like it. It is polite and to the point. When I spoke with them, they were very friendly and I was understanding. We will see what happens. I suspect that somewhere next week, all FFL's will start releasing. If one does, the others will have to or they lose business, or they will have to stop doing it as well.

I just hope they will institute a NICS check for our first time buyers and do not rely on 'previous NDs' as that is the same as 'a guarantee in the past does not constitute a guarantee in the future.'

So we have really only one confirmed case of picking up a gun early? Thats the one from On Target with the pictured release form? No offense to that person but I want it confirmed a few times before I will email my FFL. I have the email ready to go, just waiting to see this get confirmed a bit more.

no offense taken. i wouldnt belive it myself if i was not the one who picked it up. We just need to have someone else confirm and we can push other dealers to follow. I am confident we will have a domino effect.

I'm already pushing my FFL. If EVERYONE did then it may help. 1 or 2, they'll just ignore.

Good, I glad. Yeah I just don't the FFL saying "So one person on the interested posted something and you thought it was true"... Its really nothing to do with not believing you. I just feel like I should have some standard before I go sending email. Maybe I will just call On Target myself... that would be the most responsible way to go.

Thanks for posting. The letter helps too. I have an email ready to send as soon as the confirmations start pouring in.
