This is the release form I signed to pick up after 7 days from On Target. I picked up my 3/29 purchase on 5/9.

FYI. On Target started releasing firearms after 7 day wait. I just got back from the range and was visiting my M&P Shield i purchased on 3/29 and they said if I sign a release they will let me take. I just picked up my previous purchase from 2/21 on 5/3. So I figured I will be fine. I am a designated collector.

    2/21 picked up 5/3
    3/4 in review
    3/18 waiting
    3/29 picked up 5/9.

That's cool. I wonder if I showed them I'm a recent ND if they would let me receive on the 8th day?

Be mad at those who are not appropriating funds or not up staffing the dept who is doing the background checks and not those who are doing the work and getting way more stress out of it than they deserve.
My dad is a 3/19 and I have yet to decide on my next purchase. I empathize with the frustration.
We need a rally or would it be helpful to email state reps to pressure those who handle staffing?

You don't have to prove you have been ND recently. They are releasing everything that has waited 7 days. I did ask if they are doing a NICS and they said MSP won't give it to them. They are completely trusting the buyer knows what they are doing. If there are any problems you are on your own with MSP.

Has anybody gotten ND papers back who went into review from march? This 70+ day wait is really annoying me it only continues to compound...

Is On Target letting you sign a release because you have a membership with them or are a DC?

---Sorry did not hit refresh before I asked this question.

I do think this will stir thing up. Lets use some common sense. Do a NICS check wait 7 days and then release the firearm and MSP can do there own background check. The way it is now anyone can buy a regulated firearm wait 7 days sign and go. Even worse he can say he is a designated collector and buy 10 and take it with him and use a false id.

Well I'll be going to On Target for my next purchase, and No I'm not a criminal, I just don't feel like waiting 90+ days.

That reason alone is why I expected more FFL's to start releasing guns after 7 Days. I expect the MSP to do what every it takes to start getting the reviews done in 7 days asap even if it just doing a basic NIC check right away and moving to a 2nd pile to do a more detailed review because they don't want these guns released without any checks.

    Thanks

I've been reading this thread for awhile now and I just got to say you guys gotta get out more. Listen, I own several guns, I love shooting and my 2A rights but there is more to life than bitching about a 10 week wait time for our gun purchases. It's just a matter of time until everyone gets their piece, so what's the big deal?

Yeah...let our government break their own laws at the cost of our rights. Why should this bother us at all?

Just make sure you get the purchase in by October 1 and you'll be set!

Hey, while we're at it, why not delay our right to practice the religion of our choice until October, too? Shhhh!! Don't reply to that! Your right to free speech is on hold until August.

I know this will piss a lot of people off, but at this point, there's not much any of us can do.

And we know this is true because no one who has ever stood up against an abusive government has been successful, so why even try? Just give up, already. Sheesh...

The only option is to move to a more conservative state like Texas or Louisiana and take advantage of the freedoms our God created and our forefathers defined for us. However, if you choose to continue to live in the People's Republic of Maryland, well, I guess you have no one to get upset with but yourself.

Because the government owns this state, not the citizens. We just have to bend over and take it. It's our fault.

Personally, I would love to move to a more conservative state but just like most of you, my wife and I have made a life here. We enjoy our careers, our kids, and this very beautiful state.

Good thing yours kids don't need 2A rights when they grow up! Beholding the glory of the bay is an excellent substitution, though. Fair trade, I think.

We understand that our choice to stay has some consequences like high taxes, expensive mortgages and 10 week holds on our gun purchases. We accept that. I wish Maryland would become more friendly to gun owners but conservatives are out numbered by libs 3 to 1.

Good point because, as everyone knows, our Constitutional Rights are subject to the will of the majority, right?

With all of this being said, either quit complaining or go somewhere that best

This is good advice. Perhaps you should follow it and join the forums over at DU.

I bought on 3/6 and got my ND on 4/29. However, I purchased on 2/26 and still don't have a ND for my purchase (73 days). Same FFL, both submitted to MSP same day as purchase. Make sense? No, I didn't think so either.
