Not even giving gift cards this time. I guess guns will be cheaper there if your so inclined to go try and purchase some there.

Haha, good idea. I'm sure there are no laws against trying to buy from people if anyone has anything interesting. So long as you don't violate existing law (i.e. if it is a regulated firearm, you have to head to the nearest MSP barracks) I would think you'd be OK. I doubt the cops would like it much though.

If anyone does this, I'd love to hear how it goes.

Anne Arundel County Police Department to Hold Voluntary Gun Turn-In as
Part of Inaugural Statewide Gun Turn-in Day on Saturday, May 11

Residents can drop off unwanted firearms, no questions asked

Maryland Office of the Attorney General coordinates statewide effort to reduce gun violence

Glen Burnie, MD (May 6, 2013) – The Anne Arundel County Police Department is partnering with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General in the inaugural statewide gun turn-in day to provide residents an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted firearms. Representatives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department will be on hand at The Glen Burnie Improvement
Association located at 19 Crain Highway South in Glen Burnie, Maryland, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, to accept handguns, rifles and shotguns for safe disposal. No personal identification is required and no advance appointment is necessary.

Residents are asked to keep their unloaded firearms secured in a safe place in their vehicle upon arriving at the turn-in location. Please wait for further instructions from Police Department
personnel, who will be on hand to assist at the location. Anyone with questions prior to the turnin day can contact 410-222-8985.

“I want to thank the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the many other local law enforcement agencies and the Maryland State Police for participating in this gun turn-in event and making our communities safer as a result,” said Attorney General Gansler. “Anyone who has a gun that is no longer wanted will be able get rid of it safely during this event, no questions
    asked.”

Any type of firearm will be accepted and it need not be in working order. Individuals turning in guns should transport and handle them safely, making sure they are unloaded, and follow any instructions given by the law enforcement officer upon arrival at the gun turn-in location.

Once surrendered, the firearm will be processed through law enforcement databases to determine if it has been reported as being stolen or flagged as being a firearm that was used in the commission of a crime.

I was thinking about going to turn them in...it might save me the cost of a front door and my dog's life, when they come to take them from me later. :innocent0

I'd be more worried about the cops running a sting. Follow the rules and you'll be fine.

Would of like to Hand in some of my Project Rifles that I never finished for some Gift Cards. Not happening now. I'll save them for later projects as I originally intended to.

NOT giving anything for Trading in your Firearms. No Gift Cards, No Money or Foods Stamps. Well not getting any of my firearms.

They will use any guns you did turn in as props to justify taking the rest of your guns on a later date. That's not worth any price to me, JMHO....
