They'll bring the bill to him at home to sign.

... with television cameras, and the theme will be Never too sick to champion Public Safety — Governor O'Malley signs comprehensive Gun Control Bill from the Mansion.

What happens if Omalley catches a cold or flu and cant make into office until after next week? lol

Also keep in mind, that the Governor's Mansion is directly across the street from the Senate Building

From what I know, Brochin scheduled a "town hall" meeting of some sort this Saturday. I wish we could postpone the senate vote on this bill until Monday.

My FIL met with him after the Monkton/Parkton town hall and Brochin was all supportive, then he goes and votes for SB-281. He is a snake and will be voted out in 2014. He knows it and doesn't care.

brochin is a clown. He pays enough lipservice to us to pretend like he leans to be pro-gun. In the senate committee debate, he kept bringing up the handgun permitting process during unrelated conversation to spout off a pro-gun talking point every once in a while. You could damned near see him turn and wink with a slick-willie thumbs up whenever he brought up a pro-gun point. And of course, he lied and ended up voting for sb281 in committee and on the senate floor...He's two-faced and needs to be removed.

is there any way for one of our friends in the senate to get the bill relisted until monday for debate? that way we only have to filibuster one day instead of 5

Woah, slow down there cowboy. Smigiel has red next to his name in the second one. What's up with that, by the way? It seems that in a few of those, he and Dwyer were voting opposites...

Dwyer was going to vote against all amendments because he opposed the bill in any form.

There were a few amendments that weren't universally agreed upon to be GOOD for our side.

Then it's very difficult for me to gauge which of my reps (Beidle, Love, & Sophocleus) voted how we wanted and which didn't. None of them voted in lock-step with either side. Does anyone know which pictures were for which amendments?

Like what? Which were they? (Sorry, still trying to get caught up).

That's why I felt it necessary to post numerous amendment pictures to get a better idea. there are some that voted against one or even two...then there are the red votes every time...

No, they weren't bloc-voting by any means.

But, in exchanging emails last night with Beidle and Sophocleus' aide, they are squarely against the bill. Love is top of the list for removal.

Sophocleus is great. He stands up for the 2A, but is old and running out of energy to fight. Beidle is generally pro2A, but I'm not sold on her always being with us. She needs our support to keep her on our side. Love voted for 281 and needs to be removed and replaced with someone more 2A friendly.

MoM's signature timing is not in line with Sine Die. They must be presented to him within 20 days of close of session and he has 30 days after that to veto it (no veto means it becomes law without his signature).

If you look at the pictures, it shows the amendment number (typically <6 digits>/<1 or 2 digits>, such as 163628/). If you know the number, you can look on the Proceedings pages (60A and 61 cover the debates on SB281 in the House) and then click the links to review the contents of the proposed amendment.

Beidle wants the world to know she's with us.

I hope that your organizations will remember my vote and my loyalty in the next election.

Thanks, I updated my post to put the amendment link above the pictures of the roll call votes.

Yup, that's why I was thinking it's best with her to show support to keep her on our side. I do feel wiggle room in her conviction to the 2A though. An example is in her response you quoted. I've thanked Smigiel in the past for his work with the 2A and he told me no thanks was necessary, he believes in the 2A as one of his core values and has no choice but to support it. Beidle's quote didn't mention it being a core value of hers, she reminded us to please support her in the next election...

She's a friend to us now, and to keep her we've got to give her some love.

Love (as in Maryann:D) is the LAST thing we need right now!!

But yes, this is a perfect example of how the system is SUPPOSED to work.

They do what we need, we support them. They stray, they're out.

It really should be that simple. And, numbers matter.
