you're right, between my two bushmasters, the older one is by FAR the better of the two.
It's so old the logo is with the bushmaster assault pistol they don't even make anymore.
The machining is better, the oxde coating, everything.
That said, Remington's peak was decades ago.
I've got a few remington woodsmasters, a 740, a 742, and a 7400, 2 in 30/06 and one in .270 and while they're all real good rifles, the older ones seem better, and the further back you go, the better they are
The 742 is better than the 7400, and the 740 is better than the 742.
That said, good firearms are still made. I think all the people that made bushmaster what it was now work at Windham weaponry, so the quality doesn't die out, it just hides for a little while.
