There's a bunch of guys who hunt them in PA and NY as well as a good # who trap them there. Maryland- I'd guess western MD may have some avid predator hunters.

I know where some are in Balto co, but it's all private land and you'd probably have an issue getting permission unless you already know a friend or relative of the landowners. One of my customers is part of a hunting lease on 450 acres where coyotes have been seen, and he and I are going to work on trapping one after deer season. Or maybe we can try to call one in together. It's all up to him.

Not sure how East your talking about there is a pretty bad coyote problem in Washington and Frederick counties. Went from seeing 15 deer in a pack at a time to only seeing 4 in as many days. For the next few months or more that's all my father and I are planning to do in our free time.

I would love to help with the coyote problem :-) Only ever seen two both while I was on vacation in Tn. I have a few friends that live just in WV and they said they have a quickly growing issue with them there. I have heard of them in Frederick but not a major issue I think that is contained to mostly west of I81 but it seems to be spreading.

I will be waiting for the call patiently with my AR :-)

Coyotes have been confirmed in every county in Maryland. They were not transplanted - they are a western invader. Yes, western Md, probably has the highest population of them - but coyotes in East tend to be more active at night, when most dont see them, so most say they dont exist in their area.

I hear them howl, near my house, and have seen them. Ive seen a few during the day, but almost everytime Ive heard them howl, has been wee early in the morning (around 1,2,3 or AM).

Not sure if you're familiar with the Washington County Watershed property out in Smithsburg but that's where I use to hunt and where my father does. He went out the Friday after Thanksgiving and was being "stalked" by a few coyotes. A few loud noises scared them off. After another unsuccessful hunt he did some walking and found what appeared to be a bedding area for coyotes. Lots of dog poo and a few scattered deer legs. So needless to say they need to be disposed of.

I don't know the land but I have a close buddy who was being stalked by them while in TN and he didn't realize it until they were on top of him. Luckily he was 18ft up. At night in the dark this could have been bad.

They are legal year round in MD right? I know Va has taken a pretty aggressive stance against them.

HAS AR and AMMO will travel :innocent0

Yeah Maryland is year around with Oct 15 to Mar 15 being day and night. Once Christmas comes around and I can finally use my .223 bolt gun we're going to hit it. We have a few leads in the area for hunting. Once we get it all set I'll have to let you know and we can all slay some coyotes. My email is JLaff86@gmail.com. Let me know if you're serious.

Keep me in mind for the pelts. I'll take them whole, or case skinned with feet and paws and tail left in for me to skin. If you skin them like this you can freeze them much more easily than a whole coyote. I don't want them though if they are all mangey.

Keep me in mind for mounts/tanning too!

Please avenge the death of my cat! My 6th sense tells me a coyote got him, and not 1 coyote has stepped in my traps-ever. Coyotes are also killing and/or running out all the red foxes in my area! This is making me very angry.

I'm not sure, but I think I've heard a pack howling twice now. Thought it was just some primitive dogs, but the other dogs around here bark and howl all the time. This group is distinct and I've only heard them twice. Sounded like a bunch of yip yapping. Very coyote like sound.

They are in and around the Aberdeen area. I have thought of hunting them to keep the numbers down. Thanks for the note on only hunting them at night on certain dates. I also think you can't hunt them on Sundays. Why who knows.

I don't want any that look like this LOL. I only kept this roadkill since I know the area it was killed at, which isn't far from where I live. I still have the pelt, untanned, and cleaned the skull ( which was amazing- most roadkills have a banged up head). It weighed 34lbs.

Ive hunted them in frederick city watershed with limited success. Called in more raccoons and stray cats then anything. But its a learning process.

Christmas morning while firing up the smoker to smoke the Christmas turkey... heard several here in Adamstown... got my blood pumping. Had planned on building a couple of ARs for the youngest and myself for preds... but then the whole world went crazy... still got my 22mag and 12ga set-ups though.

Yep, except Sunday, DNR called that one right  When they start eating enough pets maybe the Legislature will give us Sunday

Its amazing the number of Yotes in surrounding States; PA,VA, Ky, W VA and Ohio so the future Yote hunting looks promising :D

Busted this one @ 291 yards in the neck with 22-250

    Very nice!

I know a few people in WV and Va and they have said they have really gotten out of hand down there. Hopefully myself and a few friends will be getting out soon to reduce the population around here :)
