You need 2/3rds of Congress to ratify this treaty (and any UN treaty if I remember right). Won't happen. There's no congress bypass on this. And it's an international arms trade treaty; not an arms control treaty (neither would work...). Just chill and keep cleaning your guns! Ignore the fear mongering emails about salmonella, killer bees, bird flu, and UN treaties. It all bologna.

The facts about FactCheck.org, are that the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC), the sponsoring agency behind it, is itself supported by the same Annenberg Foundation that Bill Ayers secured the 49.2 million dollars from to create the Chicago Annenberg Challenge “philanthropic” organization in which Barack Obama was the founding Chairman of the Board for and Ayers served as the grant writer of and co-Chair of for its two operating arms.

The FACT is that FactCheck.org is a LEFT-BIASED organization that has sold itself as “Politically NEUTRAL” to America’s voters and media personnel.

    DiscoverTheNetworks.org search on Annenberg.

Agreed. And there are sites like this as well:

I'm normally objective when it comes to most things. I can't get my arms around exactly what this treaty would do. I would agree it probably WON'T be good for 2A followers. :innocent0

The real danger is not the US ratifying an arms ban treaty - it is the the Nations that export small arms and ammo to the US signing it.

Don't even attempt it, unless you failed to heed Nanny Pelosi's guidance on ObamaCare ... "You've got to ratify the treaty before you'll know what's in it."

There are no less than 25 supportive documents on the UNODA website, and even more tangental documents beyond the Secretary's reports and General Assembly resolutions available for download, but I have found NO copy of the treaty wording itself ... which is what makes me leery (pun intended) of it's altruistic intent.

Have orgs like NRA, GOA, NAGR, SAF and others been crying wolf too long and too often that we've become deaf, dumb, AND blind to the potential for abuse IF (and that's a BIG IF) it gets signed, but NOT ratified. Previous lame duck congresses have left a new administration picking up pieces for decades, so why wouldn't Obamarx and The HildeBeast make similar a move ?

    I know ...

The same people who have "MOLON LABE" t-shirts (I know it's on the MDS crest as well) are the same people who chastise people for exceeding 55 MPH on I-270. They'll be turning over their cache when the police/National Guard step up to their doors in full battle rattle along with 99.99% of the other law-abiding citizens.

Look at the gun collections in the UK. A few peaceful protest marches were held but that was it. Now only outlaws have the "dangerous" guns there.

There's alot more gun owners here. 80 mill or so. Alot of folks will turn there firearms in and just go to slaughter ,I agree ,but i think many will fight. Your going to die either way.Fascist governments kill those that opposed them.

I can't see Congress passing this. All that are for it should be arrested and face prison time for treason against the Citizens of the United States.

    Love the speeding nazi tie-in!

It's easy to proclaim your belief on a $20.00 tshirt. Quite another to live your life in accordance with it.

Most folks are just full of talk.

I would rather dump the rest of my guns into the Chesapeake Bay or even hand them out to complete strangers on the street before I would ever turn them over to some tyrannical gun banning government but that's just me.

The question is not whether the ATT, as written, will affect us. The question is whether under any probable set of facts, the ATT could be manipulated to affect our 2A rights. We have just gone through a legislative battle that included
    -the Louisiana purchase
    -the Cornholer Kickback
    -Christmas Eve shenanigans
    -blatantly fraudulent "budget reconciliation" nonsense
-additional bribes and corruption too abundant to describe, and
    were promised
-ZeroCare will not increase the deficit
    -wont' endanger Medicare
-would allow you to keep your doctor
    -won't affect your insurance, and
-other lies in quantities which, if described in their entirety, would melt this server.

People actually believed this crap. Some still do. It's clearly as dishonest and corrupt as can be. The analysis should be not just what does the language say, but how can dishonest and corrupt progs manipulate it into a ban.

Soros Promotes UN Control Over Gun Ownership

George Soros is financing the fight to give the United Nations control of your guns.

Through his Media Matters organization, Soros is dumping pro-UN gun control propaganda into the mainstream media to coincide with the United Nations Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty being held in New York July 2–27.

On that score, LaPierre, who serves as NRA executive vice president, warns that the “UN’s refusal” to remove civilian firearms and ammunition from the scope of the treaty amounts to a declaration that only governments should be gun owners.

But he revealed he was set Wednesday to tell the UN gathering that 58 U.S. senators had signed a letter saying that they would refuse to ratify any treaty that includes controls over civilian guns or ammunition
