Thanks, but the biggest thanks goes to Terry and to all of the students for sticking it out. It was a long, hot day. Everyone was able to stay safe and keep a positive attitude.

No Dan, you went above and beyond, acting as a fourth instructor. The relays waiting behind the firing line got some great bonus instruction.

    Coulda been somethin like that.:innocent0

Next time we'll have to count his rounds out for him and put em in piles next to the mags.:D

Of course we'll keep an eye on his round count hereafter.

I'm just glad I didn't shoot the edge of the table/barrier. The barricades used at the Thurmont IDPA matches have a few holes near the edges, believe me. (There's a Blue Barrel there with a light crease on it from my gun. Hmmm... how did that get there?)

Anyway, "not being the guy who shot the table" was damn near my highest priority during those drills. Can that be a partial excuse for my poor footwork and picking up the dropped mag I shouldn't have? No excuses!

That was a good, solid fundamental drill. I can set that up in my basement and run it with my M&P CO2 BB gun. And if I do clip the edge of the barrier, you guys will never know!

    Very good stuff taught yesterday.

I've been lurking here for a LONG time, but I feel I need to break radio silence and offer praise to Terry and Dan et al. for an excellent class. It was a lot of fun.

Looking forward to the next offering.

Great meeting all of you, and a great class as everyone has said. Definitely lots of things to take away from the training.

I'm also relieved I didn't shoot the table...the pictures all over the internet of whoever shot the table was a good deterrent. I certainly didn't want that hanging over my head forever...you wouldn't be able to live that down.

I agree. The bonus instruction behind the firing line was great. There was some very good info and tips being put out to the relays waiting.

I'm chiming in late, i know. I just wanted to give some impressions of the class. The classroom portion, I felt, was invaluable - especially the lawyer portion. I felt as though several key points about Maryland law were clarified and examined in great detail. The range portion of the training was somewhat disconcerting since some of the things we got to do are things I, at least, never get to practice. Drawing from a holster, from concealment, with movement, etc. These are things you usually don't get to do at a public range. To sum it up, anyone on the fence about taking this training should get off the fence and git'r'done. You'll be glad you did. I'm really hoping to take the advanced class when offered, too!

one enchancement i'd like to suggest - someone should organize an open-carry lunch outing if the class is taught in Pennsylvania. I say this because it was obvious that many of the class (myself foremost among them) don't know what it's like to be able to legally carry our guns anywhere. BGOS, right? I dunno if the instructors can do such a thing, but perhaps if the next batch of students come mostly from MDS, someone would be willing to take the reins and figure something out.
