Rights delayed are rights denied. Anything other than approval is rejection. THEY can play all the "games" they want, but this will make it to the Supreme Court and I believe THEY shall issue. Just a matter of time IMO.

IF you were playing G&S , but your specific set of facts was borderline , then massaging by experienced atty *might* help. For application passed on "all lawful purposes" , irrelevant.

Guys , with this whole process , our primary role is that of *Civil Rights Activist* . It is more about calling attention , and putting pressure on regards judicially , legislativly , and in public opinion. Actually receiving a Permit quickly and easily is at the bottom of the list.

If your over ridding need is to quickly and easily have a permit in your place of residence , it is simple to do so with two phone calls. To realtor ,and moving van. In Md we are part of a *Civil Rights Struggle* . We ARE right , we WILL win, but not tommorow , and not next week.

Well, now I know how MSP is going to handle the applications that have been submitted for handgun permits.

I just got my application returned in the mail with an form letter stating I did not have a "good and substantial reason" to be issued a permit to wear, carry, or transport a handgun.

If this works, here is a scan of the letter.

Wow... that's the same guy that acused me of committing felony perjury, then called me to discuss it, then ignored all my return calls, attempted to drag his feet when a State Senator contacted the State Police to have him retract it in writing when it turned out to be a false accusization (sp), and eventually sent me a letter stating that it was all New Jersey's fault [pnly partially true] and that they issue accusizations automatically, but never issue retractions when proven wrong.

I REALLY don't have a lick of respect for that person.

The only police officer in Maryland I've had dealings with that I'd generally consider to be largely unconcerned with how his actions negatively affect the people of the State.

It took the Senator (an anti-gun person BTW) numerous calls to get him off his butt and write the retraction. (For which I've the utmost respect for her and her staff for doing the job they were elected to do: representing me and sorting out issues at the State level.)

Those applicants who had their apps returned shouldn't have to shell out another $76.00 to Livescan because the MSP won't accept the application. I know they will be forced to pay the fee again, but that's not right. MSP is stonewalling, delaying, and just plain causing people to spend more than the original fee. That's over $230.00 total to be denied. If you can afford it it will force MSP to add you to the list of those whose apps are sitting.

Mine was sent in before they started sending them back... I haven't heard ANYTHING from them... but they've cashed my check and interviewed others during the same time.

The moment the stay is lifted my lawyer will be in touch.

I seriously doubt this - probably the only groups of people less intimidated by lawyers than Troopers are other lawyers and judges

I tell you what... they DO seem to get VERY concerned when you PIA (FOIA) them.

Troopers do not appear to like giving out any information related to the firearms matters.

They can be an unintimidated as they want by my attorney, but they will not love it when their internal documents put them on the hot spot. On the flip side, if something ends up missing, you get your permit because they are now incompent and can't prove their case for denial.

I don't mind going a few rounds of that... eventually the judge is going to blow a gasket as they can only loose so much paperwork, and it won't be at me or my attorney.
