    I can attest to the fact all of the skilled trades we deal with are hurting for people right now. If you’re willing to work OT you can really pad your paycheck.

    My 21 year old son finished his 18 month HVAC certification at Lincoln Tech. Has been working for a commercial HVAC company since a year ago last February. He likes the work and is getting noticed for his diligence, reliability and aptitude.

    He was recently on a job and got to talking to a couple elevator mechanics. The pay for first and second year apprentices is a lot more than he is making now and he sees the potential. They definitely got his attention and he is intrigued.

    Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    I believe elevator mechanics are one of, if not the highest paid union trade.

    Have him check out Exelon’s hiring page. BGE is accepting utility trainees now. If he’s interested have him apply asap as the posting close quick.
