I am still of the opinion that there will not be much movement on the 2A front this year.

I agree. They are simply waving the stick threatening to hit the hornet's nest ... most of them (and especially Big Mike and little Mike) know not to even touch the hornet's nest during election year.

Surprisingly this is in the Sun today: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/ma...es/bs-md-gun-backlog-20140111,0,3366491.story

I predict we will hear the regular jibberish from Raskin et al, but Senator Frosh will be conspicuously quiet and Mike & Mike won't let anything out of committee

I bet most of them don't even know what's on the list they approved. Probably didn't get past AR15 when reading. I hope there is no further push.

No way. That article is the beginning of the campaign to remove the 7 day release. See HB 42 - also note the use of the word "approval" (as opposed to "not disapproved") -

FOR the purpose of prohibiting a licensed firearm dealer or other person, notwithstanding a certain provision of law, from selling, renting, or transferring a regulated firearm to a firearm applicant until the licensee or other person has received a certain notice from the Secretary of State Police; and generally relating to the approval of firearm applications before the sale, rental, or transfer of firearms.

    The meme begins.....

During election cycles the only waves made are those which garner key votes to secure their candidacy. Right to arms is a national liberal gain but here in MD is overly hated. They probably won't touch it.

As for adding to ban list. Expect them to eventually ban all AR builds( HBAR and AR-10). Expect any gun that isn't a bolt, lever, or pump to get a ban stick thrown at it. That said is it better to add to your numbers or gather more components to augment...

The ultimate question. Toys or accessories.

I think it might be a finger in the wind ... judging which way it blows for election day

I'm now convinced Delegate Smigiel never mentioned the banning of additional rifles to anyone.

(Can a moderator please remove his name from the thread title)

That still doesn't mean I don't think MD will be giving more rifles the ban hammer. All it takes is one Delegate to walk into a local gun shop and see a bunch of AR-15's hanging on the wall along with a dozen other scary looking rifles. They then realize their law didn't stop what they wanted it to stop and it only created a hurdle.

From the article: "It's constitutional to keep guns away from people who we have reason to believe are dangerous," said Frosh.

I would like him to explain to me just where that is enumerated in the Constitution. I don't see it anywhere above the words "shall not be infringed."

    Clowns.

Here's what I want to know from all you old timers.... How do you manage your blood pressure with all the bs that comes outta Annapolis over guns? Just starting my second cycle and already yelling at my screen. :)

Go back and read Heller, specifically what Scallia wrote, with regards to prohibitions on the right.
