My dad shot a huge doe this morning with the 20 gauge 870 scoped with a Millet DMS-1, I set up for him. I walked it off. 170 yards. Perfect shot broke both shoulders and took out the heart. It was from a stand in a seated position with his elbow on his knee. I guess all that extra practice I talk him into paid off.

It was just a doe so I didn't snap any. Interestingly enough the bullet did not penetrate through both sides of the deer.

So the bullet expended all it's energy inside? Sweet. 170yds with a 20 ga., got to get mine back out and working. A great shot, I'm more jealous than you'd believe.:party29:

Wow. Seriously. I don't even think I could do that with a laser beam.

Great shot. Gotta love a humane, long distance hunt like that.

    Good job Dad!

The new sabot loads out of the rifled barrels are more than capable way out there. They probably shoot flatter than most of the old buffalo guns like the 45-70.

You could never make a shot like this without knowing your holdovers. He has spent many hours at the range with this set up getting familar with the holdovers according to the reticle.
