I think somebody committed suicide at Gilbert's in Rockville a few years ago... I wish people would leave my hobby out of killing themselves. I'm sure there are less painful (if you screw up) and less messy ways to go about it.

Acute lead poisoning is damn near foolproof. Probably the most effective way to flip your own switch.

why don't people buy the guns? it's not like you are gonna need the money. The worst rule I have seen was a "no rapid fire rule" at an indoor range in Michigan, total bull.

I was out in Phoenix in March and had an afternoon to drive around and hit a couple of the local shops.
The Scottsdale Gun Club was awesome.
As was US Auto next door.

A lot of ranges won't rent guns at all to people who show up alone with no gun of their own.

There have been a number of cases of people committing suicide at gun ranges, using rental guns.
(Next time you rent a gun at a range, make sure they cleaned the blood and brains off of it.)

    Jesus...Dark world we live in.

You can't "rent" a gun and fire it by yourself! This implies that if you have your own weapon and have suicidal tendencies it is perfectly okay to blow your brains out, just not with a weapon rented from the range.

If you have your own gun, you don't need to go to the range to off yourself.

happened at targetmaster up here in northern delaware last year. nothing weird about the rule at all. If i went to a range like that, my head would be on a swivel.

Just read the range rules at TargetMaster last night and they have included this in their rules also. Can't come in and rent a firearm and go the range alone, especially if they don't know you and you haven't been there before. Now, come in with a friend and it's OK.

Evidence until the investigation is closed and then returned

    I own a "suicide gun".

    S&W pre-lock 686 .357

Actually one of my favorite wheelguns. I don't feel the least bit weird about owning it either. Not sure of the exact reason the prior owner chose to use it so .... decisively... but whatever his issues, he dealt with them in a manner of his own choosing.

There's a tiny flat spot on the edge of the muzzle, presumably where it hit the floor after being dropped. Kinda like a "Mark of Provenance".

Select fire in Glen Burnie says no cell phones on premises. I was told their alarms would set off if I did not leave it in the car. Went in for an hour once without leaving my phone in the car and nothing happened...... Go figure.

That's a good one. If their alarm was sensitive to UHF then tv stations and wifi would set it off as well as they're all in the same spectrum.

Yup, range/gunstore I worked at a couple years ago was open to the public and people could come and rent guns/range time. Was great untill some dipshit 21 year old guy came in, rented a .45, shot a box and a half of ammo and decided to blow his brains out. And this was with other people on the range. :mad54:

After that, only way you could shoot alone is if you had a pistol permit.

This is 100% pure unadulterated nonsense. Cell phones don't work like that.
