Got my QHIC last year to get myself out of renewal training and to (maybe) eventually dip my toes in the training waters as someone's henchman/helper.
,,, My plan, misguided or otherwise, was to help someone out for a few bucks and pick up what I can as I go. That may be a non-starter for a majority of folks, I don't know, but I'm posting here to poll the crowd.
I'd suggest stopping by Freestate and popping the question about volunteering as an AI (Assistant Instructor)

He’s wondering if there’s any warm bodies he can be with.
Makes me miss my pit bull. For maybe 1/2 of her 14+ years, she was one of my sources of heat in winter. She was almost like a hot water bottle with a smidge of short red fur. The 2 of us shared the couch in my living room as the wood stove heated us as best it could. My layers of hoodies and sweats, blankets and comforters did the rest.
