    Start at low setting, gradually increasing until break away torque is achieved. Slow, not as time expedient as a good high end dial torque wrench, but doable.

    I have 2 of the HF in-lb wrenches; if you're near Odenton/Columbia area I'd be happy to meet up and let you borrow one, or we could just do the deed right then and thar. :)

    Thanks for all the offers guys. I went ahead and ordered the wheeler fat wrench. I really wanted a borka setup,but just couldnt justify the price for my needs. ......yet:innocent0

    I have a HF inch lb wrench. I brought it to work today and checked it on a calibrated tool we use to set torque screwdrivers. At the lowest setting of the tool (20 Inch Lbs) our calibrated tool shows 21 inch Lbs. HF cert says 4%, so that is just about right. (.8 to 1) Our tool has a dial and with the break away style of wrench, it's a guess were it breaks.?

    Another option. IMO, cheap beam wrenches are better than cheap click types.
