Just a reminder there are still some bills being heard today.

At least personally I would say HB1464 would be the one to oppose, as it makes no provisions for those with permits to carry. Oh yeah, and the pocket knife you carry all the time, you are now a prohibited person if busted.

EDIT: Before anyone gets in a tizzy. It is in reference to on campus.

Extremely unlikely that these bills will go anywhere. Crossover day is 3/25. Anything is possible while the legislature is in session, but there's a long, long way to go for these bills, particularly with SB 281 still alive.

I guess under that bill, scissors can't be used or carried in an educational setting. So much for the DHS video of protecting yourself with scissors :D

Ya, they must drive in to work and think of the most outlandish hoops to make gun owners go through, arrive at the Annapolaxis of evil, share the idea, and they're all nodding and saying " write it up" and we'll vote on it.

On a different note, using the 92% argument or 80% or whatever they are saying the support is now.... If the gay community is less than 10%, why are their rights more important than the minuscule (in their minds) 2A, law abiding citizens rights up for a vote?

I do not like to get too complacent. Just 100 MDS members calling today at 1min each answering the phones is 3hrs of their time today. That is 3hrs their secretaries are praying that it is closer to end of session. Need to keep the pressure up so they know next year to keep away from the hornets nest.

    (C) A PERSON MAY NOT CARRY OR POSSESS A FIREARM,
KNIFE, OR DEADLY WEAPON OF ANY KIND ON THE PROPERTY
OF AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

I hope you enjoy eating your institutional mac-n-cheese with a plastic spork, because the kitchen staff will be prohibited from having the necessary tools to make anything more substantial, and metal utensils are right out.

That right there would obviously disqualifies ANY institution THEY graduated from ...

Because marriage is a civil right and the right to bear arms is not...wait....

Gay community is 1.5%. They would love you have you believe it is higher. That is why every TV show has to have gay males and lesbians so as to get you to believe it is higher. All part of the shaping of societies attitudes, don't you know. Even the cop shows now are 95% gays/women/minorities.

On TV the middle aged white male is either an idiot, an alcoholic or a criminal - or a combination of the three.

So in other words, it's even worse (percentage wise) in terms of protecting rights. Maybe we should use the 14th amendment in our arguments as well.
