Thanks. When you state shop around, do you mean shop around for this exact barrel? Sorry if that's a (another) dumb question.

Yea, sometimes you can get a better price from places other than the manufacturer. Try all the usual suspects....

    Barrels?

    Storm Lake or KKM .

Lone Wolf or Bar Sto (Bar Sto may need fitting)

Relative to these Glock threaded barrels (above), which of the above brands is considered to be the best one? Mainly concerned with Glock 17.
    Thanks!

It's a toss up. IMO the KKM wins by a nose. I don't like the LW barrels as much.

I think that a while back that Chad had said he preferred the nitride ones. Does anybody have a problem with the stainless steel ones?

I dont like Lone Wolf. I have experienced lots of problems.

If you want threaded I like fatory threaded, and storm lake nitrided.

Get 13.5×1 LH threads. You will thank me later.

13.5X1LH is a much better thread design. Won't loosen like Chad has indicated. Its also easier to thread the can on.

Sigs , glocks and Hk factory barrels come in this thread pattern. Its superior to 1/2 x 28.

I would go with an original glock 19 factory threaded barrel.

My thanks to you as well as Clandesdine for the excellent technical advise regarding the Glock 17 threaded barrel. Couldn't do it without you guys.

The factory Glock 17 threaded barrel is M13.5X1LH. Is this considered to be a European (Metric) threaded barrel?
    Thanks!

Apart from the extra wear you mentioned caused by conversion barrels what's been the issue(s) with lone wolf barrels?

    Reliability IMO.

Please bear with me and understand that I would like to post more details, but with the threats of lawsuits from companies (not this one), I tend to be more vague for my own protection now days.

I can certainly understand and respect that. Same reason I try not to put into writing my expert opinions on particular insurance companies. ;)
