Thoughts on DPMS lower receivers for AR15?

A friend of mine has one that he will FFL transfer to me at a decent price. What is the quality of these? Anyone have any issues with them?

A lower is pretty much a lower. There are only a handful of manufacturers actually forging them. While there are many other lowers that have nicer roll marks and a better finish, it will work just fine. Just look it over before you complete the transaction. DPMS doesn't exactly have the best reputation for quality control. As long as it's a good price, I'd go for it. (Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings)

If you don't mind me asking, how much does he want?

Yea, I'd go ahead and do it. By the time you buy a lower online for that price, you're going to end up paying $175 with the FFL fee.

It looks in good shape. No blemishes or nicks on it. I figure I will do the rest of the parts through Palmetto State or gun shows. I will take my time with it, and look for deals. Thanks for the info Obscene

Not a single thing wrong with DPMS lowers. It just doesnt say Noveske on it so people like to hate on them.
