The NRA has several parts. The NRA-ILA is the goverment lobey. The NRA Foundation is a non profit that raises money soley for the purpose of giving the money away as grants.

Your link is not working but I am assuming you are talking about the UN arms treaty. Everyone that enjoys the sport of shooting should join the NRA because that is there main goal to protect our right to enjoy that. No organization is perfect but the NRA is a good one.
