I am more interested how it might affect the Maryland waiting time, especially since our wait times are exceeding even 7 days at present.

Also interested if some of our legislators have seen this, and will attempt to enter a bill to bypass the waiting requirement for residents who have previously purchased (and suffered the waiting time), carry a valid CCW (in any state), and/or carry a current MD HQL.

Our 7 day waiting period isn’t like California’s though. Theirs is a “cooling off” period while our waiting period exists to compensate for our slow snail mail background check system. If we did what other states did and just relied on the federal system we might have a case but there is no way MD would ever give up their hold on background checks. It would destroy their registration system and their eventual confiscation plans.

Also, CCW is not allowed in this state (Unless you are rich) so there are basically no comparisons there either.
