I have pictures from back in the early 90's out around the Grand Canyon where the deer would do the same thing. I guess since they're off limit there and there's so many people in and out they're not afraid of much.

They would approach us even without food in our hands.

I was thinking Photo Shop as well.

I will say I did get w/in 20 feet of a 8 point still in velvet while driving on the Skyline Drive. He was bedded down and I walked up to get a picture (long lost, this was atleast 15 years ago). The deer around there had no fear.

Knowing what I do now, I would never attempt that again. That was dangerous and stupid.

The wife and I went to a WVA state park one time where the deer will literally stick their head in your car window if you slow down to admire them on the way in.

The State Park in Canaan Valley WV, the deer will eat carrot right out of your hands. They were hesitant at first but then they can sense that you mean them no harm. I've fed them and petted them before and got pictures.

Like most animals, they can sense danger.

    No freaking way!

I will say that on Skyline Drive the deer will basically eat right out of your hands, but not to this level

Damn....You made me dig through the closet from hell to find these. These were taken back in 93' I think. In the first pic, I'm the taller guy. The deer actually came over when we called it after I set the timer on the camera. Funny stuff....

I'd believe it. When I ride my bike on the bike trials in college park, we have tons of deer. You can just go up to them and feed them apple cores and pet them. They really don't care about people.

I'll try and make a video sometime.
