Tank explosion in Oregon

Yesterday there was an accident at an Oregon gun range involving a WWII era tank. Apparently an internal explosion happened killing two people.

Tragic. The story says little, so you might think of a Sherman with it's gasoline engines, but the video in this other story shows no evidence of a gas fire (and it's not a Sherman)

I just the other day saw a show on Mil channel, "The weapon hunter", where the host was helping a couple guys get one of these up and running. I wonder if it was the same folks. They never covered trying to rearm it.

The Hellcat was featured on the show I saw, but was not what they were restoring. The host visited the Hellcat owner looking for parts for the Achilles. They met at a range and the host fired it a couple times.

Since it appears there was no fire it might have something to do with the firing process while being at a range.

I can't verify it to be true, but a source yesterday said it was a hangfire. They thought it was a misfire, opened the breach, and it went off.
