Saw a little handmade sign last night just off Rt. 32

    "Sykesville Police Gun Turn In-December 14 10AM-4PM"

Have no other details, but it makes me sick that this crap has worked its way in to Carroll Co.

I know its not their first one, but it still makes me sick.

Hopefully some of you can rescue some good ones from destruction.

Are there any FFL's in the Sykesville area willing to do transfers for anything regulated?

On Saturday December 14th 2013 from 10:00am to 4:00pm the Sykesville Police Department will be hosting a voluntary firearms turn in. We are not offering anything in return for the firearms turned in. We will not ask questions, we will not take personal information. We are hoping that this initiative will take unwanted firearms off the streets and out of homes. We will also be taking ammunition, and fireworks. If you have any questions please feel free to call the police station at 410-795-0757.

Well, we only have ourselves to blame.

We need to have an MDS Firearms Turn In Day. "Turn in those unwanted firearms that were left in your home by a relative or ones you are simply afraid of. Ammo and reloading supplies, too! IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN!"

Have FFLs on hand to do transfers.

    Back in MD sadly
Long guns that are not regulated can just be face to face cash deals, right? No FFL required?

There is no such thing anymore. It is either legal or banned.

Rifles that were "regulated" before Oct 1st. can no longer be transferred or sold in Maryland unless it is an inheritance.

So one can just walk up, slap their firearm(s) on the table and walk away? Geez, it's real easy to turn them in isn't it?? A real passive way to disarm people.

I will try to make it down there to either protest or offer to purchase guns. This crap can't happen in Carroll County!

If someone doesn't want to have a firearm in the house, what's wrong with a turn in? It's not like you can really put grandpa's old rusty shotgun in the garbage for pickup.
