    Dundalk, Hon!
I was "volunteered" for a demonstration of flintlock v. percussion at Harper's Ferry one time back in my 3rd U.S. Regular Infantry reenacting days. I had my 1861 Springfield percussion rifle musket and my opponent was a Park Service guy with an 1816 flintlock Harper's Ferry musket. Well, I lost, because he used a technique he showed us later, where he let the powder fill the pan from the bore as he rammed the charge down. He skipped two steps that way. It also didn't help that I was so used to loading in nine "times" (nine steps) that I didn't follow the four step "emergency" loading procedure.

Damn it, I think I need to get a Zoli Zouave rifle and burn some Holy Black Powder at AGC. I'd take my 1860 Colt Army, but just walking all the way over to the pistol range isn't worth the effort.
