Why smh? The parts in an air gun cost the same or more than a real rifle. There are more parts too! The only savings is that an air rifle barrel doesn't have to be hardened steel so machining can be a little easier/cheaper. Air guns have lower quantity production too so less to amortize engineering and tooling costs.
