I guess you have to be concerned about friendly fire.

A large amount of police shootings sadly are with the officers own gun. I imagine the same could be said for security guards and I think that is what he was going after. Could be wrong.

That is exactly what I am saying. But it also pertains to the unfortunate circumstance of possible friendly fire. Bad things happen very quickly, anyone who has been in a gun fight will tell you that they never happen perfectly to your plan/training. So at a minimum you need protection from what you (and your team) for the most part are carrying. (Primary weapon of course). More protection is always better, so you have to weigh the balance between comfort/protection/price. Choose any one of those.

So in essence, what I am saying is that when everything boils down in an engagement, your training and experience will help you survive, but there are weak spots to every perfect plan. Wearing proper protection mitigates the effects of a miscalculation.

My son started a new armed security job and it has been recommended he find a vest. Anyone have a line of some good dealers and good products?

    Thanks,

    Jim

What size is your son? Weight etc? A friend of mine may be selling his unused Second Chance.

Will be concealed under a polo or a typical button up duty shirt. I carry a .45 ACP however the other officers on post carry a .40 S&W. The area in question is south Baltimore near the new casino and the stadiums.

There are lightweight 3A's out there. IIA should be fine. I would go for comfort. If it isn't comfy, it won't be worn.
