I'd vote for the engage politely approach. Makes them look like more of a fool, and actually put those dirty looks into words.

My plan if I'm ever approached buying guns/ammo etc. Is to ask them if they own a digital camera. When they say yes, I'll ask them if they are into creating child pornography. I think they be offended at the thought, and it may make them think that that's exactly what they've done to me with their assumptions.

Note: I had to think of this plan in advance, because otherwise I'd bust out something creative like "oh yeah! You are! " -- then I'd be pissed for a week afterwards..

I was at Wal-Mart in Germantown, buying 9mm and .22 LR. Cashier asked, "are these for a handgun?" I said "No, actually they're for a full-auto UZI and a bolt action .22". I just got a blank stare for a few seconds until she punched in "1950" for my birth year on the register. I'm 24 lol.

I've always noticed, the one who are against guns, are the ones who have never held one. I would have smiled at the lady as she walked by and said something like, Boy I can't wait to get him to the range for some shootin', this is gonna be a great day with his new gun ! LOL that's my mentality in such a situation. I would have smiled all over myself and hopefully give the old hag more grief, with any luck I could have pulled a "humpf" out of her too.

Should have looked at her with a great big smile, set the case down, and with hands on latches said - "Wanna see something really cool?". :D

I wouldn't have said anything unless her look really rubbed me the wrong way but I would have been happy about what was in the case so she wouldn't have spoiled my day.:D

I guess I can be consider a hypocrite because I give smokers with kids the same dirty look but IMO that's way different.

I second that, I work with a multitude of folks who are just like this, anyway I've taken my infant daughter with me to shop and buy firearms multiple times. Most people in the gun stores are charmed by her. When she gets old enough I'll teach her about the responsibility of firearm ownership. Many of these libitards are their own worst enemies, for example I invited a co worker to go shooting with me and learn what the sport is about and he grimaced and stated he was opponent to firearms. Since our discussion he has been the victim of two random assaults outside of his home. One of those assaults left him in the hospital with broken ribs, jaw, and busted blood vessels in the eye. I'm still going to invite him again to learn how to shoot, maybe he will reconsider his position.

    :sad20:

I will never get over how some people can be "opponents" of , or afraid of inanimate objects. This person obviously projects human emotions and frailties upon a piece of steel and/or plastic.

How is that NOT a mental health issue? Seems to me this would certainly qualify as a break with reality.

It all depends, maybe your "case" was a Sig pistol case and she likes Glocks better. Perhaps it was a hard sided rifle "case" and she was afraid you had that RRA Entry Tac she'd gone home to think about. Could be that she saw your "case" of 9mm and thinks you're a hoarding douchewaffle.

Or maybe she just needs to mind her own buisness. :D

    At Wal-Mart, buying more ammo.
Years ago I took my three young daughters to the library, explaining to them what would happen if they "acted up". Not five (5) minutes into it, the two youngest came running by me, chasing each other, whaling like two little fire engines. I looked at them, like "Whose little noisy brats are those?", and continued about my business, until I got them outside. Letting the oldest in the side door of the van, I abruptly closed the door, in front of the other two, explaining to them what they had done wrong. I think I spanked their little butts about three whacks each, when some nosy woman came around the corner to see what all the commotion was. She started in on me about "child abuse". I told to get on out of there, before I gave her some.

I like when people say "I don't believe in guns."

I just say. "well, unlike Santa Claus they exist. Get over it."

My daughter just turned 6 and I'm buying her a rifle for Christmas. My dad has his black powder collection up on the wall at their house and many times when she visits we'll get one or two down and talk about them. She hasn't shot yet, but she knows damned well that a gun is not a toy, roughly how they work, and that if she ever wants to see or touch one, she does so with an adult. Good solid safety foundation if you ask me.

Lady needs to mind her own damned business.

I'm fortunate to work with a buncha gun guys. I bet half of my co-workers are gun owners and the other half are cool with it anyway. At least once a day somebody gets me to talking about guns.

You have to keep in mind that most people see the Collector/Train Store. They probably thought you were carrying your stuff around for fun.

Instead of a gun, if you had purchased some condoms to introduce your 3 year old to sex, and picked up a copy of "Tommy Has Two Mommies" I'm sure the libtard would have smiled and given you an approving heel click as you went by.

It's amazing how these so-called tolerant people are only tolerant as long as you subscribe to their dictatorial agenda.

Enjoy the new gun, and good on you for introducing the young 'ens to shooting.

Still :lol2: about "Tommy has Two Mommies". :lol2:
