1994 Ruger 77MKII in .300 Win Mag with a Burris Signature 4-12x scope, Hogue stock with full length bedding block, Timney trigger, and Harris bipod. Loads are 150 grain Barnes TSX moly coated bullets. Bought the rifle and scope as soon as I graduated undergrad. Pic is from 2002. Have not killed a deer with it for about a decade now. Been almost that long since I went deer hunting.

I have other hunting rifles but this is my "Tactical" slug gun and the one I am taking out with me this week and next week for deer. At 100 yds it is a tack driver and a shoulder buster when used with Remington PRA12M Sabot Slugs.

    Picatinny rail by Murphy Precision.
Optics: Aimpoint Comp M4 and 3x detachable magnifier.

Another Marlin 336CS .35 rem with Bushnell Sportview 3x9x30? Scope. Winchester 200gr round. Great brush gun with a nice heavy round to top it off. Not sure of the year I got it as a kid from my uncle. Probably relatively new

    For Virginia/Mountains:

    Depending on the terrain either:
Savage Axis 30-06 scope combo that I bought two years ago. It shoots 1 inch groups at 100 yards and I use Remmington Core Lock 180 grain.

    or

Marlin 1894 .44mag lever gun. I just love this gun so much but I really need to get new iron sights for it. I can't shoot it very well with the sights it came with. That's a project for next season. I killed my first deer with it last year from about 15 yards (I was in a tree stand). I use the Winchester white box semi-jacketed hollow points. That round really jacked up the deer--I hit it in the rear of the shoulder and it nearly completely severed the deer's leg and its lungs were practically vaporized.

My brother has no guns so he uses my Mosin Nagant, which amazingly also shoots tight groups at 100 yards with just the iron sights using 1974 surplus FMJ ammo. I never made any adjustments to it or anything. I'm considering buying some actual hunting ammo for it if I don't end up getting new sights on my .44

I always carry my S&W Model 29 .44mag revolver in the woods. If I ever need to do a follow-up shot on a wounded animal I'll probably draw this.

    For Maryland/Flat Land Virginia:

Mossberg 500 12 gauge rifled barrel--I just picked up this bad boy and can't wait to use it this coming weekend in St. Mary's County. I tested several brands of ammo and I'm going to go with Hornady SST sabots. This came with a smooth barrel that will now be my duck/goose gun.

Ithaca Model 37 12 gauge--manufactured in 1958. My first gun. I got it used in 2006 from a shop outside of Baltimore. I've killed many ducks, geese, doves and squirrels with this gun. It has a smooth bore and no rear sight so long deer shots are out of the question. It is a "featherweight" model so slugs sting a bit. My brother killed his first deer with it last year using Federal Rifled Slugs. He nailed the deer right in the vitals from about 20 yards.

Early/Late Season Small Game in Virginia:

Ruger 10/.22. I've killed some squirrels with this and missed shots on some fast flying grouse with it. This was the second gun I ever bought. If I could do it again, I'd get the takedown model. I don't think it was available when I bought mine.

I have never tried handgun hunting. Sounds fun but not sure it is for me. I do usually carry a sidearm. But never for primary hunting.

I'd have to take a picture of the inside of my safe. I've hunted with just about every gun I own. I usually switch out several times during the season.
