I just heard back on the MP-Pistol forum from a user who followed up on this lead that I found on the S&W forum and re-posted here and there. I'm glad somebody followed up ( and they were out of state -- not in Kentucky, and Robinette's shipped it.
Of course, they originally had 20 .40 Shields, and I don't know if there are any left, but if you're lookin', they're worth a look.
