Ok, so after i painted my 1911 and out it back together this evening, I've found that the sear is not catching the hammer, when the slide is slid back, it catches the hammer, but if i pull it with my thumb, the hammer wont stay down, also if I'm just handling the reciever, the hammer wont stay cocked back.... any ideas??

check the trigger bar lever and plunger lever are in the right order, I mixed them up once on my 1911 and had a similar problem.

I just fixed it. Sear spring wasnt set in right. The video i watched for reassembly showed to put in the spring, and then build up the palm saftey. Found something online to put mainspring housing partially in to hold spring, and that kept it from moving. Works perfectly now. Thank god...
