it shot pretty well at about 70yds. 5 shots about the size of a quarter and it was breezy out. I stopped because it seemed the wind was have some effect and didn't want to use up all my ammo.
i stopped at Walmart this afternoon for a ammo check and saw a B-Mag in the case $297.00.

I have been seeing it a decent amount in all the local walmarts lately for $14.77 also I'm sticking with the 20grain, looks like cabelas just has the 25grain for now

Took the Bmag out today.. Don't like it! The bolt sucks big time, the magazine kept getting hung up, and the best group I got at 100 yards was 2".. The hmr on the other hand was excellent and did exactly what it was supposed to do without any issues. I think the 17wsm has potential but the savage Bmag holds it back. I'm ready for a decent model rifle with a heavier barrel and a bolt that doesn't take two hands to operate.

+1 I'd like to get into this caliber, but I'm waiting on a better rifle from Savage first.

I really thought they would have brought this rifle out in a heavy barrel with a nice stock for a first release.... Really bring it to market with a good looking and good shooting rifle. I too am waiting..

The review I read said the B.mag shot better groups with the 25g ammo. Also, the bolt cocks the rifle as its closed (could explain the effort).

I'm heading up to Hap Baker this morning to give it a try.

I took the B.Mag out on Friday and, while I didn't have any issues with the bolt or magazines, I didn't exactly shoot it very well.

With the 20gr ammo the best I could do, in near perfect conditions, was about 3 inches at 100 yards. I did have three cases stick in the chamber that I had to extract with a pocket knife. Those cases were actually split, so the ammo batch I have does not seem to be super consistent.

With the 25gr ammo, I was able to shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards that opened up to 2" at 100 yards.

I felt like *most* of my shots were good, so I'll say the jury is still out at this point.

    YMMV!

Savage owes us one! I think when they finally make a decent 17wsm rifle, everybody that purchased a bmag in 2013 should get $300 off their new rifle ;)
