Savage 111 300 win mag

Anyone have any experience with this gun? I have a 110 30-06 is it that much different?

The win mag's got a touch more kick, a bit more distance to it, and a bit more $ for ammo.

As for the 111 itself, can't comment on.

I have a 111 in .308. Fair bit of recoil, but nothing like a 12g slug gun. 300WM is probably somewhere in between.

Have you shot a 110 model before trying to see how the 2 models differ besides the synthetic stock and detachable magazine

I have a 110 in .300 win mag. It works fine, but ammo is a little more pricey than '06. I bought it thinking someday I'd do an elk or moose hunt, but I haven't gone yet.

It does have some recoil, if you havent shot that caliber before, it is more noticable than a 7.62x54r

Not sure what you mean by detachable magazine. Doesn't the 110 also have a 4-round detachable mag, like the 111? I have not shot a 110. Can't see how it would be much different.

My 110 has an internal mag but it's from the early 90's so I was trying to find the main difference between the 2 such as shooting accuracy and quality between the 2 models

AFAICT, current 111 and 110 models both have the (similar, if not same) detachable 4-round mag. Where are you located?

I'm in Chesapeake beach my 110e was built in 1990 but 111fc I just purchased was made in 08.
