I'm buying one when they are readily available and below MSRP.

Sounds like a plan. I had a 700 .308 budget build nearly complete (which I will be keeping btw) but will jump on the 6.5 CM and buy another set of reloading dies...

Ruger has outdone the entire precision market with this latest offering. Nobody can beat this rifle for the price, and given most of us are not millionaires that to me makes this gun the one to beat.

I do have one question though, the trigger is not my cup of tea, I wonder if it can be replaced with an aftermarket? I would love to see a nice single stage 1-1.5 lb Timney resting in there.

IIRC Timney is working on it. Long rifles is already making replacement bolt shrouds and hawk hill is already making barrels

I really wish Ruger would have suit up this rifle with a magpul PRS2 stock instead. Seen one of these in .308 for sale online for $900, what a steal. Can't wait LGS has them for around 1k

Just picked up one of these in a .308 and yes they are pretty heavy, but seems well constructed.
