    Chad and Ed page button is an awesome idea! I have PM'd Chad on a few occasions when I wanted an absolute answer based on experience and research. 100% of the time I got an answer that not only made sense but actually worked practically. Ed seems just as knowledgable when it comes to long range shooting and reloading. Great advice from both.

    I've never had the need to lap a set of scope rings.

    I've always used Leupold rings, until I put a scope on my 1895G, then 870 slug gun, when I used Warne rings.

    You might not have the need, but you'd probably be surprised if you lapped them how little engagement they have. Lapping removes hot spots for a more consistent engagement across the whole contact area. It's more secure and prevents damage to your scope.
