OK - all you 1911 junkies (and I know there are a lot of you out there) ;) .....

I have loved the 1911 ever since I first shot one years ago. It was a Colt Commander.

I have decided I want/need/have-to-have (you pick the word) one.

I had the chance to fondle an R1 at the York show last weekend, and I am thinking of getting one.

Opinions would be appreciated. I did a forum search on "R1" and came up empty. Somebody here must have one that can offer some opinions.

All I can say is great American made gun for a great price.. If I was going for a .45 1911 the Rem R1 is the one I would get..

I just starter my 1911 collection with a Springfield Loaded 9mm SS... but an R1 is on my list.

They just came out with an enhanced version... with some sweet upgrades... but it bumps it passed the triple digits.

Ill probably give one a try, reasonable assembly quality actually made in USA.

Might be my next and last 1911 until I find the real "veteran" thing.

I've got to say that the R1 I sampled in York felt reaaallly good. I think I'm going to call Mark at 2A and have him find one for me.
